The Maple Dream I've been sampling is delightful but I definitely taste caramel in mine. I've not seen anyone else mention this so I'm wondering if this is yet another case of my taste buds insisting on marching to the beat of their own drummer?

What is particularly odd is that caramel juices don't translate as caramel to me so I was very surprised to find an authentic caramel taste hiding in a maple
juice!
I'm finding the Maple Dream flavor to be light without being at all wimpy. There is no hint of any heavy-handed flavoring with cheap, overly sweet pancake syrup which I had gotten from a couple other vendors' maple flavors. To me, the Maple Dream has almost an airy sensation to it with the perfect whisper of flavor and sweetness.
To clarify my initial taste tests:
- Contrary Cherry had very little cherry flavor
too much perfumy-ness.
- Orient Whisper, I could definitely taste the lychee, but it also had a bit of perfume/alchohol taste in with it. It was still good, but just hoping to get it better. It's been a while since I had lychee, so maybe its just the flavor.
Neither are "bad", but I am assuming both will get better. I didn't really expect them to be perfectly melded together as they were only a few hours old.
Had the tops off them for a little bit this afternoon, and been shaking them every chance I get. Not definitive, but even the smell is a bit different now that I have been airing them out and shaking. They are now in the "drawer" where the rest of my juices reside for a rest.
Any thing else I should be doing to help? Seen some other posts about heating, and shaking, and ultrasonics
.some people are crazy. I am assuming that just plain old fashioned time is all that is really needed. But as I said, I am still learning
.so if there is anything else I should be doing
let me know.
I have not yet tried Orient Whisper but my 30 VG / 70 PG Contrary Cherry had absolutely no perfumey notes at any stage of its life. Right out of vape mail the cherry was so intense as to resemble a
juice reduction and completely overwhelmed the vanilla. It took about three weeks for the flavors to balance.
I once detected a very slight sour note for an Ahlusion
juice no longer being offered. Wlad mentioned that, for a very few people, some flavors combined with PG will cause them to perceive a sour, chemical and/or perfumey taste. If your Contrary Cherry doesn't settle down with steeping you might want to try it in 100% VG.
