if you're putting it between the battery and the atomizer you could always make the shaft of the fan the center pin or make it hollow to accomodate a wire.

Since the center shaft is 3/64" it would be tight, not to mention if the shaft grabbed the wire due to friction and melting it would run into a sudden death situation for the wire. But great idea!
Thanks,
Dan

If you want quiet use this design. Trane uses it on their outdoor units. Very quiet design.

Cool, thanks, will see if I can recreate in in 3D cad @ 15.5mm :)

Very nice idea. I wonder is a similar effect can be achieved with a micro (ie 4g, 8g) compressed air/co2 cylinder and slow-release valve?

Yes it would work, however I would not recommend Co2...

Compressed air, sure. Could hook up a fish air pump to the line in for the air flow :)

Wow Dan. I surprised that you could render 3D from an image. Or did you re-create? Either way looks good.

Recreated using freecad, and blender.

Ok Dan, that is all fine and great, but this guy is going to need that part back now please.

Sorry no joy for that guy!

I do not know if this is similar or not but I saw a video that jay from glv made and it was creating a similar effect. He would not show us what it was but it was just blowing vapor out of the carto. I have no idea what he was using to achieve that but makes me wonder if it was some type of fan, I will try to find the video...

edit: found it, now that I have seen Dan's thread I think the sound that is being made in the video may be a fan.glv update 4 /16/12 - YouTube

It you freeze it at 2:12 in the video, you can see the chop job done to the housing with an orange tube running up. Definantly a larger fan from the volume of air he is pushing through it. I have had this design on the shelf for 3 years now. I want to create and in line module you can use if you want. Or remove it and use the atty straight to the battery. I think the new motor and fan will work perfectly. I do not want it blowing so much that it is overwhelming, but enough to help people that can not create enough suction force to vape effectivly.

Ok Dan here's one for you and that fan.
Have it blowing into a juice chamber that has a tube leading to an atty.
Sorta like fuel injection for vaping, when you hit the button it automatically delivers juice to the atty.

Thats what the TCS M100 3vdc micropump is for :)
And yes I have one of these too :)

I was not implying that he had the idea first or anything, just thought it looked similar. I also was not assuming that the video was something that you were striving for lol, I understand why your design could be useful for some people, only reason I posted the vid was because you had said something about not thinking that anyone had done this before and I just thought it looked similar. It is a very nifty little gadget that you have made and I cant wait to see the next version. I find myself wanting one even though I have no trouble inhaling.

No worries, I did not take it that way. It will be neat if I get them actually made and working. On days your feeling lazy you can power vape :)
