Hey all.

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times already, but I was wondering if anyone has any recent experience traveling with their vape gear.

I have a domestic flight leaving Pearson in Toronto Thursday night and I'm a little spooked. There's no disguising my 808's as e cigarettes, my carto's look like shell casings. and my mod looks like a bomb detonator.. Then there's the fluid lol...

I'm not checking any baggage, any recent experiences or advice would be great!

Thanks

Here is what Air Canada has to say and I would guess it's for all flights leaving Pearson:

Electronic cigarettes (or 'e-cigarettes'), provided they remain stowed and unused in your carry-on baggage.

aircanada.com - Carry-On Baggage

Edit: I think as far as your juice goes, put it in a double zip lock with your toilettries and you should be good to go.

So I answered my own question lol.. Right at the bottom, now so worried anymore!

aircanada.com - Carry-On Baggage

Certain electronic devices which are permitted on board with restricted use, such as:
Personal entertainment devices (MP3, iPods, portable games, radio receivers, video cameras)
Satellite receivers (e.g. hand-held global positioning systems)
Calculators (without printers)

Electric shavers
Pagers (receiving type only)
“Noise busters” (electronic noise cancelling devices)
Wireless handheld devices (Blackberry phones, cellphones, including cellphones with MP3 player or build-in camera, PDAs, etc.)
Passengers may be asked to turn on their electronic device at the security check. Please also view a list of prohibited electronic devices in the 'Prohibited Items' section above.
One book of matches per passenger
Butane (Bic-type) lighters. Please note that for departures from the United-States, Bic-type lighters are the only lighters accepted past US pre-clearance checkpoints
Plastic knitting needles with rounded tips (except for itineraries including the UK)
Electronic cigarettes (or 'e-cigarettes'), provided they remain stowed and unused in your carry-on baggage.

Hey Midnight Vapist....

Depending on how much liquid you take - it's always wise to store your main supply in your checked luggage. It helps to carry it in a case with a label of some type on the outside "eliquid". A small bottle of eliquid in a plastic baggy might be okay - but if you spook the security (and that can happen to guys who wear their sunglasses at night) - they might toss it.

Hey thanks for the advice!

I'm not checking any bags, as it's a short flight, so now it's a toss up between prefilling a pile of cartos, or to try for a bottle or two. I have a few days to figure it out so hopefully I'll decide on something easy to deal with.

About two weeks ago, I traveled on a flight from upstate NY to St. Louis. I had my Reo Mini and Riva 510 in my purse with a 3ml juice bottle in the mini and a 10ml bottle of some other juice. I did not read about keeping the juice in a baggy and I didn't have one with me. I was really worried they would take my juice. I took the Reo and the Riva out of my purse and placed them in the bin with my shoes and purse. After that, I was "randomly"? selected for a body scan and they re-scanned my purse. After the purse was scanned a second time, they took the purse and re-scanned it with some sort of hand held device. (checking for explosives?)

In my luggage I had my REO battery charger and 3 Riva battery chargers, along with extra juice. When I arrived at my destination, I discovered my suitcase had been opened and "messed up". My suitcase had been opened both going and coming home. I imagine the electronics showed up in the suitcase scan and they felt they had to take a closer look.

The security guard might look at them, but they are clearly not a concern once examined. Don't worry about over zealous agents - there's nothing you can do about that.

I would actually print off that that "accepted items list" and just have it on hand. Just to prepare yourself if you encounter someone who isn't in the know.

Also, it's worth noting that on the prohibited items list there is this:

Unidentifiable liquids in unmarked containers.

Canadian security agents are far less difficult than the American counterparts. Haven't really heard of any issues yet in the great white north.

Concat does have a point that you should be sure to carry your liquids in a marked bottle - with logos, etc. If you have a mod that doesn't look like an ecig or has wires protruding from the battery compartment - then it could get questionable. Regular ecigs though just seem to sail through without a problem.

Back up plans are always wise though. Might be a good idea to pre-fill several cartridges and carry a labelled bottle of liquid.
