Hi Don. The airflow adjustments allow the vaper to create the type of draw they wish to have with their vape. I prefer the tighter draw myself so I normally use the smaller 2 openings. The larger openings allow more air to be mixed with the ejuice giving an airy draw. It's mostly a matter of trial and error to find which works best for you.

Doge X has 18 holes, so when it is left completely open it produces huge clouds, good enough to enter into a cloud competition, though the Doge V2 is truly the cloud competitor. Trident V2 RDA has very small holes which provides a tighter draw but increases the flavor. To find a RDA that balances flavor and clouds is key if you are looking for that balance, go with the Doge X.

Like the other member wrote you must find that sweet spot. Trial and error or learning about various RDA specifications and basic concepts which make up an RDA or a tank device. The vast amount of information on this web site forum and YouTube (of course google too) can either make your head dizzy or make you want to learn more in turn vape more and in time it turns into a hobby/collection.

Keep on vaping!

In addition to changing the airflow to adjust the draw, changing the airflow on something like a Nautilus clearomizer (or tank) will affect how much e-liquid feeds into the coil. Almost all tanks feed e-liquid into the atomizer by utilizing the pressure differential created in the chamber by drawing on the drip tip. This means that when you constrict the airflow, more e-liquid will be pulled into the atomizer, when you open the airflow, less e-liquid will flow into the atomizer.

This is important to remember if you are experiencing flooding or dry hits - a quick twist of the airflow control can help with both issues.
