I started with 1/16, moved to 5/64 and I have stayed at 3/32. This was because I kept going lower and lower on my builds and I had to keep up with my heat.

1/16 was perfect for .8 - 1ohm, 5/64 was used for .6.-7 and I stay around .4-.5 now with 3/32.

I like an airy draw, the flavor is still great and I blow bigger clouds. You don't really need a drill either, just turn the drill bit by hand, brass is very easy.

I think I am gonna get some spare top caps for different hole sizes....make my own AFC!

I've drilled all of mine out. I started at 1/16 but have found 5/64 is the sweet spot for me. I like the more open flow and can adjust the coil height to increase or decrease vapor and throat hit. Start small and work up. Too large and as I mentioned the other day, you'll end up with a nice whistling sound from the hole when you do a slow draw.

Is there any flavor loss or throat hit loss when going to a larger hole or is it the opposite? I've been contemplating doing this since I received my second RM2.
It really depends on your style of vaping. If you are a mouth to lung hitter then 1/16-5/64" would be the best for flavor and vapor. If you are a straight lung hitter you might go bigger, but the flavor will drop off some. I recently modded an Atomic and found I prefer the smaller air holes as I am a mouth to lung vapor. I can vape the medium air holes but I have to switch to lung hits and that is just not uo my alley...

Also depends on the build, if you go too big with the airflow and your coil is too big ohm wise it will be very airy with little vapor, lower ohm build the larger air hole feeds the coil, produces more vapor and cools it so it's not super hot.

Bingo!

tmel and I are on the same page. I do lung inhales and like the better airflow. To me, flavor and TH are unaffected on the RM2. It's a pretty decent RDA device.

I've been playing with converting a number of atties to bottom feed on my LPs. I keep going back to the RM2s for daily carry, not much else, other than a Cyclone, compares.

Love my RM2 but I find myself drawn to all the converting to bf talk. So, thanks for this post. I need to not fix what ain't broke.

1/16 for lung hits. For some strange reason I found that I prefer 1.5ohm instead of my usual 1.1ohm to 1.3ohm. I've had my RM2 for about 2 weeks and although its a good vape something wasn't quite to my liking. So I spent all day yesterday building numerous coils(different lengths and guages)until I found the sweet spot for me. I finally found that 7 wraps of twisted 32ga is perfect.

I converted my IGO-L's to BF and they are still 1.3ohm. They seem a little too cool at 1.5ohm. Got the Phoenix V4's converted to BF this morning. They will also be left at 1.3ohm.

Anyone know the size of the hole on the Cyclone (not AFC)? I only like mouth to lung hits; the draw ok as is (I usually build .8-1.0 ohm coils) but sometimes it feels slightly too tight. I'm wondering if 1/16th is much bigger & if it might be better. Or if there is a size between the unmodded hole & 1/16. I know it's personal preference and all... just don't want to ruin my Cyclone!
