So this is going to be the first time I fly with an e cig...

I'm going to be flying out of Palm Springs into Phoenix and then to Dallas.... or something like that.

Will they let us bring glass bottles of the liquid on to the plane? I have the 30ml glass ones from totallywicked, and I wasn't sure if they would allow that to pass through security.

And also, does the glycerin in the liquid not set off any kind of detector?... I heard somewhere that glycerin is used in explosives... or something of that sort....

Thanks :)

Cool... Thanks.. I'll be flying US Airways... so we shall see if they are vape friendly :)

As far as being vape friendly, I don't know. Most airlines are banning e-cig use on aircraft. This means that you can have them on the aircraft, but they don't want you to use them.

You're confusing nitro glycerine (explosive) 8-o with vegetable glycerine (in e-liquids and many other food-type products) :thumb:.

Girlfriend just went on a plane ride. I set her up with a 3ml bottle of liquid to tide her over. She didn't put it in her carry-on, but instead, just carried it in her pocket with no issues.

Either way, you are fine transporting the liquid because it is not illegal nor dangerous. Vaping it during your flights is a totally different story.

I carry 2 - 30ml bottles of juice in my carry-on. I go through airport security at least twice every week. There was never a question.

Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquids are not illegal. Airport Security does not care about them.

Have a safe trip;

I guess I'm just scared to carry any liquids on me at all because I'm from a Pakistani background lol. It's bad enough I always get selected for those "random" checks, if they saw me carrying any liquid they're prbly point n say "TERRORIST" LOL

Don't worry about a thing crash. I'm on a terrorist watch list, and get secondary screening all the time. (and I'm white, fat & bald) I've been flying for over 40 years, and these idiots still can't figure it out. They're not concerned at all with my e-cigs.

That's a good thing to hear. Thanks for the info, at least I know that I won't find myself on the wrong end of a rubber glove in a room with Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS :w00t:

And Jim, thanks for the heads up :)

As these guys have stated already, it really isn't a problem. Put your fluids in a sandwich bag, make sure you are within the rules as far as how much you can keep in that bag.

I took a trip to Seattle a couple weeks ago and had no problems whatsoever. I was all freaked out wondering if they were going to bug me about it...and the only thing they inspected was the WATER we had in a diaper bag for our 4 month old daughter who I was carrying. They went and tested the water, not a word about anything else. lol.

the 2006 transatlantic aircraft plot is why the test was done on the water. type that into wikipedia for more info on that. As far as the question for the OP the make of the bottles is of no consequence. Glass, plastic, bat guano it doesnt matter as long as the bottle is labeled less than 3.4 ounces or 100 ML. If you have a bottle larger than that put it in your checked baggage. Also if you have a bottle larger than that, holy crap you have a lot of juice lol.

Made it to Texas without a problem.

USB Passthru was all nice and tied up with my power adapter for my laptop, batteries/atomizers were in my "...... addict case" with the paperclips and carts, syringe (without the needle, just a stopper), and of course my niquid in my zippie bag.
No problems or questions... so... YAY :)
Oh yeah, and I just separated my 510 and had the battery and atomizer in my pack of analogs. (Believe it or not I still have to smoke one every morning and after a big ol meal :) )

On the plane, I just did a little stealth vaping once in the rest room.. the plane rides wasn't all that long so I didn't really NEED it.

Thanks for the help everyone :)

Oh a question I can help with!!!

I am an Air Transportation Specialist in the Air Force=)

You may not bring any liquids over 3oz in your carry on bags. For those liquids, you are not authorized more than 3oz bottles, unless it is in your checked bag. This is to include aerosol, lotions, gels, and any other liquid. The exception to this rule is perscription medication, needed during flight, personal care products ( decision made per inspector ), and baby milk / formula in reasonable quanities.

Hope this helps=)

Here is the direct TSA links that you should read.

Drake there are a couple of things with your post that are false. First the limit is 3.4 ounces or 100ML to accommodate bottles of perfume and cologne, though many officers wont say anything if its 4 ounces but dont quote me on that. Second personal care items are not allowed if they are over the limit. Only medicines, babies milk (breast milk, fomula, regular milk, and water when acompanied by formula) and juice for people with diabetes and toddlers are allowed. Yes over the counter medicines count and no eliquid does not:D and no water doesnt count as juice for diabetics as there is no sugar in water. I am an officer with TSA and have to take peoples shampoo and shaving cream away from them every day. One more thing, Im not trying to nitpick with the .4 ounces added on I just dont want people thinking they cant take their bottle of cologne or what not because of the .4 ounces. While Im adding things on to this post I just feel like sharing that aluminum foil will not hide anything in your bag so please dont be like the family I saw today trying to hide their Cokes by wrapping them in aluminum foil and putting them under a laptop. Now let the TSA bashing commence haha.

13Ways, so can you please recommend what would be the best way to the liquid and PV through? I don't need to vape in the plane, but I really want to have the PV for the waiting time and delays after passing security.

How should I take lets say a small 10ml bottle of eliquid, Prodigy with two extra batteries and two 510 atomizers? Would this cause a problem at the security?

First thing I would do is separate each item. Dont send it through assembled unless you feel like having your bag searched. If they still search your bag they will run a test on it and it will come back negative therefor they wont consider it a threat and you will be good to go. They may ask what it is but thats about all the questioning you will get. I say to dismantle it because I know a 901 looks really bad on an xray. I saw another ecig go through once but Im not sure what kind it was because I only saw the xray not the PV itself but it also looked bad. I can only imagine what a prodigy would look like. If you want to be very safe from a bag check you can run the prodigy by itself. Also the eliquid is perfectly fine in you 3-1-1 bag. 3.4 ounces equates to 100ml so you are well under with 10ml. With what you are bringing even if completely assembled inside a bag what you are bringing would not create a problem it would just slow down your trip through security. Like has been said earlier Ecigs are not illegal and have not been added to the prohib list so there are really no worries.
