you are not heating the liquid enough to burn off the alcohol so it is still being breathed in.. there are older posts that go over this..

I don't know if this throws a curve ball into the above statement, buuut,

one time I mixed in to much alcohol (kinda on purpose) into the mix. when vapin at the point of a dry attie the 7v mod backfired a flame right up the clear drip tip. It was dark out and every one I was with saw it. being a little hard core i tried it again and poom a bright orange flame. Ok, ya one more time, I did it again.
What do you think was causing the mini explosion?:vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor:8-o

Alcohol starts absorbing into your system the second it hits the tissues in your mouth. "Mouthwash maybe your issue", I assume with your test. Wink-Wink, Nudge, Nudge... like 3 times a day!

Morning, Noon, and Evening... with your VERY sanitary brushing habits, I assume.

And then after snacks too.

(Commies!)

This post, my Linux friend, rules.

I'm sure there are other jobs out there besides the airlines that have to make sure their employees are running mentally at top notch at all times.

How would you like to be a passenger in an plane with a hung over pilot? Or have a hung over school crossing guard take your child out in traffic? Scary, right?

Can't say I agree with your statements here. Personally, I don't believe for one second it's about "mentality". It's about costs. Think insurance. Health insurance, insuring aircraft, insure against liability and peasant policies. Do you realize how stressful some of these company's corporate environments are? Do you realize many doctors work 36 and 60 hour shifts? Just as many pilots are forced to work 16 hour days. Do you want to be operated on when the doctor is in the last 10 hours of his 36 or 60 hour shift? Do you want to fly when the pilot is on his last 2 hours of his 16 hour shift? Repeat after me: "It's ok to work you into insanity. It's not ok to let you drink or smoke on your own time." Now ask why? Psychology? Or costs?

This is an important issue actually, and I will be looking for expert withness for a DUI case... You can find all my recipes in the DIY recipes forum, I include 10% grain alcohol to get the throat hit. This alcohol is filling your lungs, but very little transfered to blood. Nonetheless IMO will skew a DUI test result significantly.
