Alcohol extracted flavors in E-liquid; Any effect?

This may very well be a dumb question. I ordered some liquids with extra flavor from Virgin Vapors (I love that I can buy organic/natural flavors!) and being almost out of liquid, I can't really help myself from using some of them before steeping to evaporate the alcohol, and could taste it a bit in the vapor. Just wondering if its possible to actually ingest enough alcohol from this to have any effect on the brain/body. I'm guessing it would be in very miniscule amounts. I just don't want to accidentally catch a buzz while driving or working in the studio. Thanks!

I don't think it is enough to give you that affect.

I personally let their flavors air out, uncapped, for 2-3 hours before vaping. I tried one right out of the envelope once and the alcohol gave me a weird sensation in my throat that I didn't like. Still went ahead and vaped the 0.5ml in my tank though, had no ill affect. After they air out, the alcohol is gone and they are just fine.

For perspective, an average glass of wine contains about 0.7 oz (~21 ml) of ethanol. So if your juice contains 20% ethanol you would need to vape >200ml of juice to get the alcohol in one drink. There is absolutely no way you're going to get drunk from vaping juice with alcohol in it. OTOH, I've tried lots of different ethanol concentrations in my juice and at high levels it can dry out the throat/lungs a bit, so I'd keep it low (no more than 5 or 10%) to avoid the harsh effect on your tissues.

BTW, some wine/liquors have diacetyl in them, which is safe to drink but not safe to inhale. For this reason it's best to be careful about putting liquor in juices. Pure ethanol (everclear) should be ok.

getting the e-liquid warm will really speed up the process, some people like to make a batch in a microwaveable cup mix it well and toss in the microwave for 5-20 seconds at a time. stirring it for a while in between heat cycles. it wont take much to get it warm but you want to keep mixing well. you don't want to see boiling or any vapor come off the e-liquid well its being heated. if you have an atomizer you can drip into you can test at the end of each cycle as you go. this can take a while depending on the how much alcohol add into the batch. when you think its done, let it cool all the way back down before you put it in the bottle. PET plastic will degrade and leach toxic chemicals into your e-liquid at or above 140 depress F, so don't get the plastic bottle hot or leave it in a hot car.
i use a different method, same idea i just use hot water and a Pyrex cup to indirectly heat the e-liquid. i have more control of the temperature of the e-liquid this way. and i can mix it the entire time. i also wait for it to cool down before adding nicotine.

using eye protection, oven mitts and rubber gloves is strongly encouraged.
i picked up goggles at home depot designed for fluid protection for under $10.

I don't drink often, maybe 3-4 beers a year. That being said I am very sensitive to alcohol in my system. I have been vape'n on some ejuice I that I added a few drops of alcohol based flavor extract (orange and coffee). I have not noticed any effects from the alcohol just the flavor. I noticed with the orange I get a cool almost menthol effect, and the coffee I get an almost coffee liquor flavor. I have not tried to vape the extract on its own, It being 85% alcohol It might go up in flames (might try with old RDA later and find out, I don't recommend anyone try it however). That being said I think there are no chances of getting drunk/buzzed from vape'n on such low amounts. FYI the flavor extracts for baking are very strong and 1-5 drops into 20ml will completely overwhelm the flavor of your juice, so if you try be aware you might ruin your juice :(

It is possible to get a very quick and short lasting buzz from vaping an alcohol based flavor. due to your inhaling vaporized alcohol and you lugs can put that into your blood stream quite quickly, but even still I doubt it would be much of an effect and would only last for a few seconds maybe a few min at the most.

I really liked vaping the everclear PGA but stopped because of dry mouth vape tongue. Perhaps I'll revisit a lower concentration one day but 10% doesn't sound like a promising alternative to nic.

I felt a mild buzz effect first time I vaped PGA with low performance 2007 cigalike on passthrough but wondered if it was placebo. Second day no buzz but did have a mild TH. Days later no buzz, no TH but yes vape tongue.
