Which two people are you referring to?

I have tried thinners and oven cleaner. They don't remove the muck, so surely nothing else can.

I hope you are not planning on vaping on a coil that you cleaned with oven cleaner or thinners!! May be less of a health risk by just going back to the stinkies!! lol

I normally soak my gunked up coils in hot water for about 30 minutes, dry it off and dry burn it in 5 second intervals until there is no more residue. You will notice that it stops letting off any vapor or smell when it is clean. When there is still gunk on the coils, you will also notice that when you blow on a glowing coil with gunk, it will become brighter. As soon as the glowing reduces when you blow on it, it means that the coil is clean and cooling down from the airflow. I do this with my silica wicks too and it works very well...

No, I certainly would not use the coil I soaked in oven cleaner - just a test to see if it worked.
