Just got my first order from AiVL - I have all of their latest 2013 August line-up of Flavors. First off - their packaging is amazing. It really puts that happy feeling and excitement into trying it for the first time right out of the mailbox. However, my first vapes off AiVL was not good at all. Flavor was okay, but it wasn't the flavor that almost made me toss the whole sample kit....

I'm posting a full, in depth review, vaping from multiple devices to try and find each flavor's ultimate setup.

I will say, initially out of the mail I was a little disappointed. I ordered some BIG bottles of Creamsicle and Zombie Apocalypse. I knew I'd like Zombie, because I love cupcakes and strawberries! However, I only ordered 6mg - and my first draw off it made my throat hurt REALLY really bad.

I figured maybe let it steep for a few weeks?

Even with the creamsicle flavor - it hurts my throat a LOT. Compared to my current all-day-vape which is Epic juice's Apple Jax - so far AiVL is not even on the same level, far below. Initially, before steeping I'm giving brands like Epic juice, AVE Juice, Mr. Good Vape, Plume Room, and Flavorz by Joe all A+ ratings - and AiVL falls somewhere around C- / D+

One funny thing I noticed about my batch of AiVL compared too ALL other juices I have in stock (and I have over 100 bottles of juice in my steeping closet) is that AiVL's juice has the consistency of water. Whereas, all the other juices I own have the consistency more like Oil, melted butter.

AiVL looks like water w/ flavoring sloshing around in the bottle.

I realize to get an accurate assessment of the flavor line I'm going to steep them all for at least 30 days. That being said, has anyone else noticed a substantial difference in AiVL's throat hit and consistency? I'm almost thinking bad batch, but I don't want to be that first time customer. Not very pleased at this point.

Full Review coming... but I'm mainly concerned with this annoying throat hit.. I Vape w/ an Empire Mod w/ Nimbus running dual coils at about .6 - .8ohms depending, silica wicks. I also vape with an eVic w/ Vivi Nova 1.8ohm heads. No matter what, nasty scratchy hard to swallow throat hit that leaves my the back of my throat hurting.

I will steep, and hopefully retract this entire post.:glare:

I have never had a hard hit off of alice juice, do you have a sensitivity to VG or PG?
I know that alice juice each has a different blend and that is why most of them are a little off, I notice that Zombie really darkens with age if it keeps bothering you maybe write them and ask, they have great customer service

AIV has a unique mix, or maybe it's the base - some people don't like the "after taste". Perhaps you are allergic to whatever is in it? I know that I am allergic to Velvet Cloud Vapors - all their juices make me sneeze. They don't specify the PG/VG of their juices, but they do seem on the thin side. Perhaps a PG sensitivity?

A loud pop is heard and an odd avian appears levitating in the air. He wears a platinum YB medallion and it is glowing orange and translating his voice in a deep, smooth, male, Latin, voice:

"Hail ph0kused! I urge you to call AIV and speak with Nicole Li. I think that something is not correct with your order...for whatever the reason...and that they should be notified ASAP. I am, admittedly, a supporter of AIV and their flavors. Your description of color and consistency are unlike any of the many bottles I have received from them. AIV has its own, subtle, flavorings and artistic approach to packaging. Many do not appreciate this while others praise it. I, for one, am happy for the day I first flew by their thread and also feel you may get assistance there. There is also a short lived contest occurring there to win a fine art print.

The best of luck to you and I hope that you get your order straight and then can subjectively report, with accuracy, your reaction to their e-liquids, when you have the real thing. Oh yes...one final thing....CAW!"

Small specks, flea-like, black, and gyrating, appear around YardByrd. He turns his head to the side and opens his beak wide in an unmistakable Byrd grin, winks once, and the dots draw to him, turning him into a stippled image! The dots then separate, drift, and wane until YardByrd has vanished.

Wow I think something may have been wrong with your order....I am new to vapeing and had no idea what I liked or didnt like so I ordered the AiV bit of everything sampler (and a cheap vendor sampler)and it arrived today. I have been learning a lot by reading the forums and knew I should let them breathe and steep as they were "fresh". I could not wait and had to try the lemon loves cake and ZA as they smelled SOOOOOOO good. Mine were at 24 mg and I have to tell you I loved both and cant wait to try the other flavors. I did not have the problem you did with the TH (the cheapies however must NEED to breathe and steep...they are so harsh). I hope that your issue is addressed quickly at AiV and you are willing to revist the offerings they have. I use just a basic Evod set-up no VV or fanciness yet.

Let me give you guys an update on my bottle of Zombie.

So when I re-ordered another sample kit a 2nd order of "A Little Bit of Everything"

I opened the sampler bottle of Zombie, tried it - Tasted AMAZING!. Happy and frustrated at the same time, I went back to my original 30ml bottle (6mg) of Zombie from my 1st order, tried vaping it - same intense alcohol like burning sensation.

To clarify - I vape 50/50 vgpg's 100vg's 60/40 - I literally have over 100 bottles of half filled ejuice bottles in my steeping closet. To answer your question about me being possibly allergic, I can assure you, I am not. I'm only allergic to Penicillin;)

I love some of the flavors ive tasted out of my sample pack, BW Cookie, White Rabbit, and the smaller bottle of Zombie are my stand out favorites right now.

MY original BIG bottle of Zombie has the cap off in my steeping closet, which is temperature controlled w/ humidifier to keep the ambient humidity around 65%. Everyday I get home from work, shake it up, and place it back in it's spot with the cap off. Caps off hoping to knock down the harshness of that throat hit. I'm not one of those .....y customers, as I work in sales - so I hate people like that, I'm willing to do some extra work, because I really like AiVL's customer service and marketing.

However, the only thing that leads me to believe this one bottle may be defective, is that the consistency of it is COMPLETELY different to the second batch that came in the mail. The small sampler I got in my 2nd delivery has the consistency of normal ejuice - thicker than water - sort of like oil. Similar consistency to 99% of all the juices I own. After 8 days of steeping, the original bottle of Zombie still has the consistency of water. Very runny, and when I shake it, it kind of foams up, which I've never seen before. My 2nd bottle does not do that. Both bottles are 6mg nicotine.

To be fair, the harsh throat hit has been knocked down a tad bit. Not enough to make it even remotely satisfying. But it has improved, so rather than paying for the freight to ship it back to new mexico or where ever, I'm going to keep steeping it up - I'll keep you guys updated. Every 4-5 days or so I'll drip some and vape it to see if any progress has been made. I am ready to place my 3rd order with AiVL for some B&W Cookie and some White Rabbit - they are sooooo great!

Also, when trying a new juice vendor, never, ever, EVER order big bottles until you've sample their wares and decide you like 'em. Not all juice is created equal and you may not like what everyone else is raving about.

Not to sound snobbish, but I disagree with that theory. If you can afford it, it's no big deal. To me buying ejuices is such a positive thing compared to buying packs of cigarettes, that the whole "only buy small samples" doesn't even cross my mind. I mean a little 6ml bottle compared to a 15 ml, a few bucks, and I may like it (or i may dislike it). I've probably spent close to $700 this year on juice alone. Most of the time I offload them to my friends, the ones I buy big bottles of and don't like, so it all works out (the juice is being vaped one way or another). I only buy big bottles from new vendors if they are notoriously hard to order from. AVE Juice is a prime example, they open for roughly 5 minutes every morning - so if i'm lucky enough to get things in my cart, and they are not out of stock - I pull the trigger on big bottles.

AiVL is another example - they are a high demand boutique juice, they sometimes have a countdown till when they open, and they stay open until capacity, then they close. It may have been different in the past - but now, you have to be at your computer and ready to order. I have favorite juice flavors all over the board - I don't mind rolling the dice and spending $12.00 on a big bottle - no biggy imo. Compared to my old cigarette habit I'm still saving money, so agree to disagree on not buying big bottles from new vendors - I've gotten lucky many of times, and was so glad I got a big bottle. I've also thrown away full bottles. To me it's a wash.

If this helps at all, I've found the AiV juices I've tried so far (B&W Cookie, 'Twas Brillig, and Cupcake City) work better at lower voltages than I had expected. For instance, in a ProTank 2 with a 2.5 ohm coil, I run AiV at 3.5 to 3.7 volts.

YMMV, of course. Sorry you had a bad experience with AiV this time 'round. :(

Nothing is "wrong".

There's not a single vendor out there that everyone likes. People have different tastes. This is why sampling is vastly superior to reading juice reviews (unless you're VERY familiar with the reviewers tastes).

If I started a thread that said, "I like liver" (and I do btw), a thousand people would post in it saying, "omg liver is disgusting". Who is right? We all are. Don't be disappointed if you don't like anything from a particular vendor, only be disappointed if you can't find any juice you like from any vendor.

Glad to hear about your positive experience. If I may suggest, next time slip into Catapillars lab and try the April Moon, Ginger by the Sea, and if you like Absinthe...Mind Toulouse. They are fantastic juices!! Of course, taste is subjective and YMMV.:)
