Let me start off by saying I had high hopes for this one. I was/am looking for a replacement to Backwoods honey flue since its ALWAYS out of stock. Everyone talks up AVE, boba, etc, so I figured its a reputable well liked company and they have a honey flue tobacco, match made in heaven. Ordered 2 30s, got them in, loaded up a new boge cart, filled up my tank, and there is was, the bluemist vaping chemical perfume taste. So first impression is bad, like really bad. :(

I popped the tops and let the 2 bottles breath overnight, that got rid of some of the perfume but its still there. Now I don't get a honey taste at all, there is a nice tobacco underneath the chemical perfume you get on exhale, but that taste on inhale is NO BUENO. So I decided to let it steep, maybe it needs a week.

Same damn thing, perfume and the tobacco taste has mellowed a bit. If anyone has any other suggestions for a honey flue tobacco I would love to hear it, It took me forever to find BWB honey and it was the sweet nectar of the gods, all day vape, never want anything else eliquid. It ABSOLUTELY sucks that the honey flue has gone the way of the dodo.

BWB Honey Flue has always been in relative short supply - there's a couple good reasons for that... and at least one reason beyond Don's control... there really isn't another honey flue out there that is quite like bwb... and part of the reason you appreciate the difference... is because 1) it takes a few extra steps to prepare it... he's not just squirting flavorings in a base... and 2) Don does make it with an ingredient or two that is a major pain in the neck to acquire...

I don't know if you've tried it, but head over to the bwb forum... here... and just ask what people use as a substitute when it's low or out.

75% of my vaping used to be bwb... and I suppose I only cut back... cut down because Don offers so little in terms of menthol and that's what I vape now...

with that said... I always found want2vape and nHaler to be the closest in terms of character, intensity and quality to bwb....

Not the same, but similar in terms of underlying taste... quality... complexity and strength...

Their flavors are more natural tasting... they don't overpower... no perfume... you can actually taste the tobacco in the base... the quality of the base and nic are high...

Want2vape's creme brûlée reminds me a bit of bwb honey flue... different flavors... but similar in many aspects... light on flavor intensity... nice background notes... no overpowering flavor...

nHaler's RYNOT has a nice light tobacco background with flavor notes... this is from their octane line... I believe their octane line is lab quality... his regular line(s) resemble BWB more accurately...

anyway, that's my 2 cents... I think you'd find a more suitable substitute by identifying vendors who have a similar process to bwb...

I love AV... but I have never considered AV's juices to be complex or "natural" tasting etc... excellent quality...

I am pretty sure you can dialogue with Drew from nhaler... and I know you can definitely dialogue with Donnely from W2V... just like Don... and tell them what you want and what you want to avoid in terms of flavor and they are pretty straight up... they might even be able to tweak a recipe...

edited again...

This is another possibility...
Azurevaping... former bluemist had a "caramel tobacco" that utilized similar principles to honey flue...
not nearly as complex... but possibly a satisfying substitute whilst you wait. Azure seems to have taken on a "cheap" image lately due to their $16 for 120ml deal... this is a shame because I know first hand that azure uses a high quality nic base like bwb and w2v... and they also used a real tobacco absolute that is well crafted... but instead of the complex flavoring that honey flue uses, azure just uses some caramel... but it works to some degree because of the good quality nic and tobacco absolute... I recommend this in single strength and at 100% vg.... all the positive reviews were at this blend.

People should also note that this company recently survived major flooding and this temporary price was to revive their business and win back customers who might have forgotten about them etc...

anyway, just sayin'

I think that there are viable substitutes to honey flue... though no such thing as a match.

It was always one of my top 3 BWB flavors
