Ok this one is going to sound silly. I have read and looked at the pictures showing how to align the cartridge and atty. I find it difficult to do it correctly unless I have a very bright light to see inside the atty. It is quite difficult when in a darker area and even worse when I have the cone on to see down the tunnel. It would be great if carts were made so they only fit in one way or if there was a little mark in the atty ( kind of a this way up) that we could see more easily. I am thinking of using a drop of nail polish on my attys to mark the direction so I know which way to put the cart in. Anyone else have this problem and solutions?

Oh, the cartridge. That makes more sense. Personally, I can never see inside and then I realized there was actually no performance difference when I ignored it. Aligning the whistle tip with the button on the battery is fine until you've unscrewed the atty and put it back again. Likely it doesn't seat identically every time depending on how good your torque feel is. But again, things got easier when I started ignoring these things. I personally like carts better than cartos so I use them a lot. I also prefer the whistle tips, just a mouth-feel thing.

Some people melt their carts and that is why aligning is recommended. Also there are a lot of clone 510 attys and carts around, and with some the sides of the cart that fit around the atty may not be as straight, and aligning can help keep the sides of the cart away from the atty. You could certainly try not aligning and see how it works out for you.

I did have a problem with the cartridge melting and giving off a very noxious smell. When I searched the forums that is when I came to the threads and pictures that said to align the atty and cartridge so the oval shape of the cartridge bottom and the oval shape of the area around the bridge match. I don't think I am OCD ; nust a newbie trying to follow the advice from those with more experience.

Sorry, it's just that I had NEVER heard about it, nor had I had any problem with melting of cartridges. I have bubbled the paint off of an atty before by getting it too hot while chain vaping my Joye 510Mega, but never melted the cartridge, hence the confusion. I didn't meen to offend anyone, but just looking at it like aligning the atty with the cartridge sounded ALOT like me aligning my tank cartridge with the label of the atty, it serves no porpoise except to please the little bit of OCD in me.

For those of you that like carts I would suggest you check out the smart carts over @ Gotvapes they work extremely well, best yet. you pull out the stock filler and use a piece of the blue foam and they really work terrific. They will also have a jumbo carto called the Giantmizer in stock very soon and these are really going to be super

Alignment seems to make a difference with the smaller 510 carts. I always have a small LED flashlight close when at home so I checked for a while. The difference is slight but real. I switched to the Mega attys and carts and find that the orientation of the cart is much less important with the larger fittings. I am finding that the Mega Xl attys last longer than their smaller cousins although the much higher cost is not an endearment.

Put a mark you can see/feel on the side of the atty with a file..... Then just line the cart up with that! =)

Since my attys are mostly black this is exactly what I do but I use my knife to mark the atomizer. Doesn't take much of a mark but be sure to mark both sides in bright light. Yes, I'm old. As stated earlier, each atty will align differently on the PV and you want to be able to see both sides easily. I don't use whistle tips so alignment of them is not critical for me.

Pneathery-no offense taken. I think we all have our OCD like issues- ask how long it has taken me to pick out just the perfect sofa. A friend kept the pics of each one I've liked over the years from English cabbage rose to ultra modern and back again.

Slothy& Critter- Thanks for the idea of using a file. Wasn't sure if my idea of nail polish was safe if it got hot. Now to see if I can file a mark on the inside of the atty so as not to mar my pretty pink atty when I get the replacement.
