I have noticed that it seems that all my attys dies in the same way:

1. It starts as a low vapor production and hard drag.
2. burnt taste
3. it heats up but little (and I mean little) to no vapor

I only use polyfill and JC liquid, may any of them be the cause of it? the burnt taste is impossible to get out, I have tried vodka and vinegar but it seems to make it worst. I tried some dry burn but without getting the coil red (I think I'm too much of a chicken to let it burn until that point) and it makes it even worst

Omhs are ~2.7 so I believe they are ok.

What's the effect of some polyfill melting on the bridge or coil? can this be the result of that?

From what I have seen, there's a wick that is wrapped inside the coil, is it possible that it got burnt or something? should I try to remove it and use it only for dripping?

How can I prevent this from happening? is it just me or is this the normal way they die??

I'm going crazy, when I'm just right and happy without analogs my atty dies and I have to go back to them, at the moment I have 2 attys that present this problem, the oldest one I soaked it into vinegar and then vodka, didn't work.

The other one (that has been working for about a month), I soak it in vodka 3 times, the first 2 worked fine after, but now it seems to be in the point of no return :( not sure what should I do... at least I have one that works and another one unused.

Is there any side effect of vodka use for maintenance? I think I'll just blow the one I'm using now every other day as MrGrimme said.

JC juice is an on again/off again atty killer.
From what you state, sounds to me like you may be flooding the atty over time. I have found that flooding does seem to shorten the life of my attys and I think it is because the coil has to get extra hot (longer on the button/drag) to vaporize all that juice. That extra time/heat means an early death.
Try blowing out your attys from the batt end, rinse in hot water, blow out from batt end, repeat. Then wipe the threads dry, prime 2-3 drops of your favorite juice and start vaping.
The vapor will be poor at the start until most of the water is vaporized off and you're back to juice only.
Then try and avoid flooding.

I blow my atty out about 2-3 times a day now just to ensure no flooding and it seems to be helping me - no water rinse just the blow out.

I tried to remove the threads of the worst one, I didn't manage to get them all, but as soon as I started to do it I noticed some black hard gum attached to the end of some of them, I scratched the back of the bridge and down into it and more black gum came out.

I placed that black gum on vodka, then vinegar, no effect, nothing seems to dissolve that, which let me to think that once you build that up there's no return, also I did a bit of dry burn, the coil got orange super fast. After that I gave it a couple of drops but same bad taste and poor vapor production :(

Recommendations about how to prevent the build ups?
