Awesome, Raidy. Can't wait for part 2.
Can you tell me if this would work? I'm not familiar with which type of stainless is safe to use.

Not fine enough, you want #200-#400 or perhaps even finer. Stainless Steel Woven Wire Mesh in A4 sheet format: 304, 316, 316L
Meant to say earlier. Gummi, Jens, looking real nice there![]()
That #325 may be a tad too coarse for great vapor, and at their site they longer seem to have it.... For mesh I ordered from here. hint 1 left
Raidy, hi, good day from Russia! I am found wire mesh 40 micron. Its good? And price...50 dollar per sq.meter..
that's 2 square feet though, only $15 a square foot, but they are out of the other size. I wish the shipping wasn't so pricey from The Mesh Company: Online Shop for Woven, Knitted and Perforated Mesh for Art, Craft, Floristry, Modelling and Engineering in the UK($20), because their price is about $10 for 1 A4 sized sheet of any mesh and $20 for 3 sheets, but figuring in shipping makes it a bit too much unless you are buying bulk. That #325 may be a tad too coarse for great vapor, and at their site they longer seem to have it.
This 'Mesh #500', from the same outfit is probably a good choice, but pricey.

Wow. You are the man. Fascinating thread - enough reading to make my eyes bleed.
I'd like to get your opinion on an idea. Can the atty be mounted in a plastic lid? My thoughts are to mount the atty in the lid for a plastic bottle, like the juice comes in. That way all you have to do is screw on a new bottle. Even a small glass bottle with a metal lid? Then instead of running the power leads through the juice tank, they can come from an outside source. Like a side-by-side configuration?
I wondered if the base of the atty gets too hot for plastic?

Yes, ceramic is a perfect material. I have a ceramic-oven which makes 1250° Celcius (=2282F). The problem is, that cermaic always shrinks a litte bit. And it should still glaze so that it does not absorb liquidI'm playing with a "home made" ceramic top. Unbelievable how well ceramic works! All I can say is (o invest in good pottery clay....
