My husband says he can smell it, and it makes him hungry.
And my oldest son says occasionally he's walking through the room and catches a whiff of chocolate. He's not unhappy about this.
My husband has wanted me to quit smoking the entire twenty years we've been together, so he's just happy that I've almost quit (none so far today, not even my never before missed morning one!). I can understand a no smoking in the house rule; my entire family should not have to breathe in smoke and have everything in the house smell like smoke just because I have a bad habit.
However... vaping is not smoking. Research and common sense both support that there's nothing harmful in "second-hand" vapor. Vapor does not infuse everything around it with scent. Vapor does not damage property like smoke does. If my husband threw a hissy fit about me vaping inside, I'd be forced to invoke the "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" clause and insist that he could no longer eat or cook things in the house which I find smelly, because it's the same thing.
I mean no offense by saying this, amrdh5. Rather, I find myself angry on your behalf because I just don't understand why some family members refuse to give full support to loved ones who are quitting a deadly habit. But I'm glad you've found a compromise that allows you to vape while keeping the peace in the house.
