I just bought an mvp 3.0 pro and I'm loving it so far but I've been seeing all these articles about mods exploding is the mvp 3 pro safe to use?

The mods that have exploded have mostly been mechanical and the people using them have used the wrong battery type. The mvp 3.0 pro is much safer than that :)

We were all taught not to stick a knife in a toaster to get your bread out. Some people test the limits. The .0000001% is what the media hits upon. It generates $ for them. No one wants to hear about 95 year old granny sitting on her porch in the cool autumn air watching the kids play out in their yards.

I think all those articles about exploding mods are a crock of nyit (my grandpa's word for :censored:). The media take a picture of some injured young guy laid up in the hospital and falsely conclude it was because of a mod explosion, as if a venting 18650 battery were nukes.
For the love of Pete, get real. A smallish battery cannot knock a grown man unconscious. It had to be something else that exploded.

Used properly, Most Mods Can be safe. MPV is a fairly decent mid-level Device.

Ultimately any individual Mod could Fail and could do so Violently. Under those conditions, Calm collected and immediate action may prevent damage beyond the device itself.(may)

Life is full of unwanted surprises.

The explosive power of even the small e cigs are like a hand grenade. Yes they are very explosive. The 18650 battery can literally kill everyone in a room with shrapnel if it goes volatile.. I know you don't wanna read that but its truth..

The one great thing about the batteries we are supposed to use, they have very low risk but accidents do happen.. People assume all 18650's are the same and use the wrong chemistry batteries and they explode uber violently..

Just yesterday: Reposted by USAtoday yesterday in the news.. Ran on CNN news..

I assume he was probably using wrong chemistry batteries. Test on our IMR batteries show they do not explode but heat up hissin and fussin.

WRONG. The Naples incident is covered in 2 or 3 other threads in Media and news forum.

The user was running a tank on top of a hybrid mod. The tank atty pin most likely shorted to the wall of the thread wall as he mashed and screwed the atty down onto the open battery top of the hybrid mod. The atty pin distorted and shorted and caused the battery to vent. The mod was probably thermally hot before it exploded and he didn't realize it which is really amazing. It was a total user error as most of these cases are. The equipment rarely fails...the user always fails.

Yes it is. Media putting out all the false information. No reports that it was user error. You can go to [HASHTAG]#cbsmiami[/HASHTAG] and tweet that their story was inaccurate as to the facts.

1. Don't use an unregulated mod.
2. If you ignore 1, at least take the battery out and store it in a safe battery holder when you travel with it in a bag, and at night as you sleep.
3. Turn off your regulated mod when you're not vaping.
4. Use only chargers designed for your mod or battery and charge on a non-flammable surface. Never charge overnight.
5. Live long and prosper.

There is no way that article was accurate. It said the mouthpiece went down his throat and exploded again???? Really??? I don't think so.

I know a lot of people who use hybrid mods. A lot of people here use hybrid mods. But my personal opinion (and it is just mine) is that they are the most dangerous type of mod out there. I think if you check all the reported incidents out there in the media, you'll find both regular mech mods and hybrids are probably the vast majority, with hybrids topping the list. To me, they are just not safe. That's why I only use regulated mods. I'm not "confident" enough to believe that I will always know when I'm safe. I'd like the mod to make sure. Too many new users get mechs and hybrids and really don't understand the nuances involved with ohms law or battery safety.

I do not tweet unfortunately nor see reason to stop that spool of news agenda. If a person sees that they question safety and do an internet search and find it to be as you stated "user fault" in 99% of e cig accidents. Even that smok badly made enclosure that could explode, that was recalled, was due to a dropping of the mod. I am on facebook with the exploded mods owner and he posted it as soon as it happened, he dropped it and we csi'd it down to the screws in the body of the mod on here..

Yep partiality of user fault. Stores can be at fault for selling such mods to uninformed but I believe this guy knew what he was doing and just messed up. That way of venting the battery forcing the topcap into the seal will make it explode as he punctured the seal and even safest of high power IMR batts will explode if you do that.. Not if he just shorted by grounding it out..

Car won't get into accident without the driver..

Yeah some scientist on the engineering forum rate the explosive power of battery cells and whoa can they do some damage, I hope he gets better.. Prayers:nun:

BTW if it was a tank and it was overheated that could be what exploded in his throat..
