There are many regulation based on a persons weight, and just as many of those are illogical in some cases as laws/regulations/policies are which ban vaping outright.

Not all obesity is caused by over eating, eating poorly, etc. yet all obese people get the same treatment from such restrictions.

Regulation by government is seldom the one true solution(tm), it has always been, and will continue to be based on who has the money and time to have their case presented to legislators in a way that gives them "authority" to pass a law.

This includes outright bans on tobacco, a business should be able to determine for themselves if they want smoking inside their business or not, and it should be plainly posted so that people who have legitimate medical or personal preferences against smoking can avoid places where it is allowed.

Mate I agree with all that. My point was a comparison between smoking deemed evil to us and a deadly killer that must be eradicated to save our civilization from annihilation and obesity. Obesity is a killer much like smoking. Yet Obesity seems to be a hush-hush no no to talk about because we may hurt someone's feeling by calling them fat. It is treated more as a disability.

So here we have 2 "killers" smoking and obesity, yet one is demonized while the other is a "sssssshhhh" lets not talk about because fatty may have their feelings hurt. Next on the political agenda.... fining restaurants for feeding too much food to their patrons.

I was wondering about Casinos? Can you still smoke in those?

I was on cruise ship a year or so ago. They permitted smoking on the starboard side and the Casino on Wedn and Thurs night.

That place smelled horrible too.

The Casinos in Cincinnati no you cannot smoke at or at least I wasn't. Can't remember if I asked or saw a sign. Lost too much dinero so never went back.

I always go outside still...I take advantage of vaping indoors at my house only. I want to enjoy my vape not feel a bunch of eyes on me anyway. Plus i still wanna hang with the smoker's outside, we're considered the same by non vapers/smokers anyway. When I stopped smoking I vowed to never be that snobby former smoker that throws a drama fit when they see or smell smoke.

OK, that sign is real and in place!!!

I would have exited my truck had there not been a gray out down pour/close lightening strikes with local tornado warnings. I didn't want to swim up to da door to get a pic that most of ya'll really don't GAS about. So ya'll go ahead and spout off if it makes ya 'feel' better/superior!

BTW, I'm ugly and an American. Been 'round dis globe over two times (USAF retired, '65 - '85). Da worst treatment I've ever received has been right here at home in da good ol' US of A. So fer all da scat stirrers

I used to vape at our local Chili's without issue (actually with the establishment's blessing)...then one day when I was vaping at the bar, I had a tap on my shoulder by a worker there I had never seen and told I couldn't do that there. I asked why and they said there was a corporate memo about it- some little lady complained. Anyway, I don't go there anymore.

Recently, I was asked if I would pout beer at a local event. I gladly accepted. Then I got a text thanking me for my time, but it also said "you cannot vape." I inquired why and was told that it smelled funny and that they were concerned with the "poison" I was exhaling. I tried to educate them but was not successful. This really ...... me off and I graciously (well, not so graciously) backed out of doing this volunteer service for them. I'm sure there will be smokers there- but evidently vaping will be banned at this event.

I really try to understand some people. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Regardless of smoking/vaping, your "poison" is vapor, yet what they want you graciously to donate your time by pouring beer which will get people drunk and poison their liver.

There is this burger joint close to where I work. They have this burger with a Chipolte mayo sauce, grilled pineapple, grilled onions, grilled ham and swiss on top of a juicy burger. Man it is good. If you go at the early part of lunch time the grease smoke is just billowing out of the place. I keep thinking, really... we sit through this crap but can't smoke or vape in here?

Unless they are just "blowing smoke" (pun fully intended) the inclusion of "violators subject to fine" would indicate an ordinance. The restaurant certainly would not have the ability to impose a "fine" for a violation of their policy. Refuse service and removal from property yes, but not a fine....

Exact same here, being able to vape in my house has been absolutely wonderful after freezing my .... off for years!

Why do you need to make a spectacle of yourself when vaping? Why the "hey look at me" attitude. I vape wherever I go. I keep it on the down low and nobody knows. Be smart about it, otherwise this sort of thing is only going to get worse. This is why this sort of thing is happening. Groups of vapors going out and cloud chasing in groups in restaurants. The ill-informed, noobs and sheeple are scared .....less about anything they don't understand, and this is the result.

The Gold Standard in action. Whoever has the gold makes the standard. The sign going up is probably reactive not proactive. Probably a response to dumb people doing dumb things in front of people who operate a for profit business who don't have any interest in dealing with the fallout caused by the dumb people doing dumb things in or around their place business and took the steps to eliminate what they probably have the right to do.
