All vapers welcome in my bar

I've tried vaping in a few bars in the local area and normal get a few funny looks. Now and again one of the staff will come up and tell me I can not smoke in the bar. This Leads to a long conversation trying to explain the difference between vaping and smoking, usually ending with them wanting to try my e cig.

Well as the head doorman at a bar in Leeds I thought I would lead by example and have finally got the management accepting of vaping. And as more customers see me openly tooting on my SD and show an interest, they are getting used to the concept and less of them are coming to report vapers smoking in the bar.

We seem to be getting quite a little vaping group forming.

This doesn't mean all doorstaff will be as accepting, but with time and a little educating i'm sure they will be.

And if not......you're always welcome at my bar!

That's awesome, We have a few problems here with vaping in bars. I've gotten quite a few looks and people who just don't understand that vaping is different than smoking. I still don't see many people at all who are vaping though. I know there are some in the area but I just haven't seen them yet.

Many people still find it strange over here too. But it's stranger to me watching people vaping in the smoking area. At first the guys vaping thought I was trying to trick them or something when I said the didn't have to come outside to vape.

It's a great talking point too when the smokers see me vaping.......managed to convert seven people in the last three weeks. Maybe I should be on commission.

Thats great! its amazing how people are excepting of vapers once they are educated on it. I only know one person in my area that vapes and we will usually go outside to vape just to avoid any confusion. if there's anyone from Central Illinois out there lets meet up and have a vape!

Sniper congrats on turning your bar into a vapers hangout...We need more people like you!

I find whenever I go into a bar with doorstaff on, I ask them what there policy is on vaping. Most of them haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, but that gives me the opportunity to educate them a little........We'll get there in the end.

I tend to go outside and Vape when in the pub.Like has been said,it's a good topic of conversation and gives me the opportunity to plug the idea.

I also do it out of respect for 'Smokers',Wouldn't want to be seen if laughing in their faces,as such when they have to go out in the cold/rain etc.I would however be bloody minded if a 'Non Smoker' insisted i go outside.
Stating that do they complain when the coffee machine steams away behind the bar and ask the barman to take it outside because of the 'Vapour' it is producing.
Or the hypercritical fact, that they probably drive a car/van etc and they emit harmful gases detrimental to some ones health.Where as what i am doing is completely harmless to anyone and the planet.

Personally I've never had any issues with vaping in bar. Usually a polite explanation is enough to convince bar staff that strange looking metal thing is e-cig. Tho if non-smokers wish me not to vape in their presence I feel obliged to respect their decision.
