A decent while back I got my first setup. Love love loved it. All the vapes tasted amazing. Then suddenly about 3 weeks to a month in, I couldn't taste them at ALL. No taste of them what-so ever, nothing of even the strongest flavours I had. I gave it some time, like 2 or 3 more weeks and tried again. I could vaguely taste them for maybe the first puff then no more. Shortly after that when I tried them again I could not taste some yet again, while some other flavors which were great before, now taste absolutely disgusting. I gave up on vaping at all for like, a month now.

Currently, after trying once more today, I am stuck in what seems to be a permanent phase where they all taste VERY strong and VERY disgusting (with some still tasting vaguely like "something" but not what they are supposed to or used to). Disgusting to the point of feeling queasy after one puff and I have to put it down. I just can't bring myself to have any more.

Is there any advice any of you can extend to me? It would be greatly appreciated. I don't even know where to begin on getting myself to enjoy it as much as I did when I first started.

Thanks!

What equipment are you using? Disposables? clearomizers? Cartomizer/tank? "Cig-a-like"?

Are you using juices? Pre-Flavored cartomizers on batteries?

Just a little more information and I'm sure the community can get you back tasting good again :)

I suspect you have some aging clearos/cartos that the filler or wick has just gone sour on, and needs to be replaced or re-wicked to get back a fresh flavor. The bottles of juice, to my understanding, actually get better the longer they sit.

Are you a cig smoker? Were you? If you were when was your last smoke? Any lifestyle or life changing issues when this started? New meds for anything? What kind of juices? Are you buying them fron the same manufacturer and or reputable? What is your set up? Have you tried new tanks or a different delivery system yet?
I have lots of questions and more....sorry just trying to help a bit.

I don't know what my setup is called (I THINK the guy at Vape Revolution where I bought all my stuff called it an eGo)

If this image doesn't work, my apologies. The only place I know to upload images apparently now requires me to register to direct link, I may or may not have found a workaround. If this image doesn't work that is probably why. Anyway, if this image works, this is what it looks like:
20130106013656.jpg

If not, let me know and I will try to describe it further. Plus this image is horrible quality because my tablet stinks at taking photos in my house but I hope it gets the point across. XD ALSO if the image is too big for the forum let me know and I'll edit it into a link.

This is horrible I have no clue what any of the parts are called XD... but I tried to replace the one replaceable part (Metal thing inside the tank with the filter in it) as well as refreshing the juices to no avail. Made sure I shook the bottle first like the bottle said to do. I was taught in the store how to fill it and am positive I am doing that part correctly.

To get to the questions, that is the best I can describe my setup. It's one of those things with the tank on it that you fill. I fill it with various e-juices from Vape revolution in Cerritos (physical store).

I used to smoke cigarettes, quit when the vapes were working well for me, unfortunately started up again recently after the queasiness when trying my vapes hit me. I only smoke once a day, if even that however, so I don't smoke all that much when I do. (even when I did smoke it was still one cigarette per day) I quit originally on the same day I first got my equipment. But started again Mid to late December up to today when I had my most recent one. (one to none a day up to now)

There was no real lifestyle changes when it had started, it was mid-semester at college I was in a normal pattern of activity. I was buying from the same store, though they are the nearest one and 70 miles away, so I've only gone twice. (I cannot order anything online for vaping, so I should say this now that any proposed solutions involving ordering things I cannot acquire from the one store are not the solutions I can take, unfortunately) this is my only setup, and I only have two identical batteries to the one pictured. (if the picture is visible)

Hope I answered all your questions! If not feel free to reiterate them to me. XD

I replaced it with a fully new cartomizer. My tank is about half full (Photo is of it on its side which explains why it looks full) I however do not have access to gin. (and no, I cannot get any) XD Also, that is the natural colour of that juice. XD

Do you know of anything I can use instead of gin? Though I think replacing the cartomiser itself should have done effectively the same thing as cleaning it.

Thank you for the response!

Did you prime the cartomizer before you filled the tank? If not, you may have burned some of the filler when you fired it, and it would basically ruin that cartomizer forever, everything would taste nasty coming out of it...

You can also boil the cartomizer to clean it, and let it dry for a day or two... Personally, I never try to run more than one flavor through a carto, so I keep the tank and carto topped off, and just toss it when the draw tightens up or it starts tasting nasty.

Most important thing though is making sure you prime it right though... Also, that carto may be bad... There are some inconsistencies in build quality, especially over the last 6 months or so...

Hi Dodeca-Dork. As you can see I'm in Long Beach. I've been to Vape Rev and to Ecig City in Laguna Beach. You are 70 miles from nearest store? Do you mind if I ask where? Or you could just go check on Vaporsearchusa to see if there is a store closer to you.

Are you filling the Cartomizer in the middle before you put it in the tank? Is the taste a burnt taste?

To Worzel:
I shall try that! Thank you. C: I'll report back with the results once I have been able to follow out all the steps.

In the meantime if anyone else has other ideas, feel free to send them my way. C: Quite desperate to be able to go back solely to vaping again; I wanna stop this smoking thing once and for all. XD

To dam178:
I did prime it, exactly how they told me to in the store (to see if the white stuff inside the hole at the bottom turns grey when it is damp, as well as doing the non activated puffs to get the bubbles to stop coming out.) I'm pretty sure I've followed those steps properly as they were taught to me. Thanks!

To ManuDawg:
I don't want to say me exact location but I am south and east of the store I believe, that general direction. To what degree of each direction I won't say publicly. That site is how I believe I found that place, so it was indeed the closest to me. The taste is not at all burnt, which leads me to think it may be an issue not with the equipment or how I'm filling it but something wrong with me xD Thank you as well. C:

Oh, you know, are those cartomizers pre-punched? If they are they should have a small hole in the metal just above the bottom cap of the tank. If they aren't punched, you need to punch or slot the carto first, or none of the juice from the tank is going to get in there :) You still need to prime it right, no matter what...

Exactly what I was gonna ask dam718. I know Vape Rev sells their own laser cut Cartos but I don't see a cut or punch. If there is no hole then you certainly won't be getting any juice into the Carto once it runs dry. You should be filling the Carto first then inserting into the tank and filling the tank and then the Carto should wick the juice from the tank, sometimes with a couple primer puffs like dam718 mentioned.

Greetz DD.

I have an eVic and if I crank the voltage all the way to the top, all juices I have will taste nearly bland with hardly any distinction between one or the other. I'm not familiar with the eGo, but if voltage adjustment is a featured function, I'd try to play around with that a bit first.

Beyond that, and just for sake of testing I myself would likely order some primo juices from a reputable vendor online. Although e-juices usually get better with time, it's always possible you ended up with some long over-shelved expired products which sometimes go bad after the bottles have been opened.

I can't think of anything else, but I'm also still in the process of learning all sorts of new things.

If there is a hole, you may have to make it bigger, if you cannot get ahold of a punch right away, prime your cart before every vaping session. Drip juice onto the filling until it cannot suck anymore in, but be super careful not to get any down the center hole, you will flood your cart and you will end up drinking your juice. If you have a steady hand, remove the drip tip, lower your cart so it is even with the juice and tilt very slightly until small amounts of juice go down into the side of the cart and keep doing this at different angles hitting every side, but be careful not to get the juice in the middle. This will take quite a bit of juice, so fill tank again when done. Push the cart back up and put the drip tip back on.

Wow so many people while I was editing my post! XD

Well, It DOES have a hole, I can confirm that. I have to get the white of that (I think its the wick) to turn grey to make sure it is saturated, so I can guarantee that the hole is there since I have to focus on that thing to make sure. But yes, I first fill the cartomiser, then slide it into the tank and then fill the tank. Given the lack of any burning taste, as well as the fact visually it is well saturated, and I am not taasting any juice that has made it to the center, I'm not too convinced it has anything to do with the loading or function of it. Honestly wondering if this kind of thing is a phase or if maybe I should just go back to the store and try more juices. (I just don't want to go back and buy more juices only to have the same thing happen with those XD)

As far as voltage, mine is just a one state voltage (not sure at what voltage it is, however) But I cannot change it at all. (I was unable to afford the fancy one with the voltage changer XD)

Unfortunately I cannot order anything vape related online, for certain reasons. I do know I bought many "popular" flavors because the store said that some of the ones I got always flew off the shelves, so I'm fairly sure they were fresh.

Also, Marnology, I have no clue why they are facing the way they are. XD

Thank you all for the advice so far! C:
