How come all of the sudden she has formed an allergy to smoking. is it really an allergy?



The answer to your question is no .... no, your sister does not truly have an allergy to smoke -- though it is possible that smoke irritates her.

Yep, I'm pretty sure my wife has been reacting to the odors of the more intense flavors, e.g., that spearmint. Because of her illness, general lifelong sensitivity, and very bad side effects of acupuncture a few years ago, her physical (and emotional) reaction is pretty intense.

We've reached an unspoken detente: during the day I take vape breaks on the patio; later in the evening I stealth vape (not spearmint) in my home office with the door closed. Her chest congestion has passed and I don't vape in her face, so to speak.

She has enough to cope with, without me picking at what may be, at least partially, psychosomatic.
