I've been vaping since the end of December. I'd say I'm a heavy vaper.

Nothing has changed that I can think of. juice is same (12 mg, 70PG/30VG), same vendor.

Saturday afternoon, I noticed my somewhat irritated roof of my mouth was really getting too sore to vape any more. I laid low through the rest of the day. Sunday morning, the pain mostly subsided when I woke up. I vaped a bit, and it came right back. I hardly vaped at all Sunday, but I did a little here and there. I also noticed that the raw feeling on the roof of my mouth seemed to be spreading to my lips just a little bit.

Today, I woke up. Same as Sunday morning. I tried to vape a bit, and the pain came right back. It spread to lips even more. They feel kind of numb/burned/chapped (but there is no sign of redness or chapping). I laid off and haven't vaped any more today.

Anybody experience it like this? At first, I though maybe too much nicotine from chain-vaping, but I would think after all these hours, my body's nic levels (including that on the surface of roof of mouth or lips) would have gone way down.

Plus, the vapor really doesn't get on my lips when I vape, yet, I feel the burning/numbness on them.

Could this be the PG allergy I have heard people mention? The odd part is, "Why did it take 3 months to kick-in?"

Example, I haven't vaped except for about 4 drags about 9 hours ago. I just now took 2 drags, and immediately, I felt the lips start heating up as the exhaled vapor passed across them. It not a temperature burn, though. It's chemical in nature.... or allergy. I just don't see why everything was fine for 3 months, but the human body remains a mystery in so many ways. I will see if I can get some VG.

Do you have another bottle of juice to try? One that, for sure, you weren't having trouble with? Is the consistency and color the same? I'm thinking along the lines of vendor error. If you are sensitive to PG for instance and they gave you a higher PG that might do it I guess. I'm not sensitive to it so don't know what the tipping point is for those who are or if it varies with degree of sensitivity. If I were you and had a Walmart nearby, I would go there and buy some plain VG and see how you do vaping that. You can thin it with up to 30% distilled water.

You've got some great advice here already. The only other thought I had was make sure you are not getting a small amount of juice onto your lips from the drip tip. From there it gets all through your mouth. This happens to me on occasion. Most of the time I will notice it right away because of the taste. With some juices though I do not notice it right away. It then keeps happening and ends up irritating my mouth and lips.

Well, I went out and bought some VG juice from a local tobacco shop. It is tolerable, but I am still sore. I can't say for sure this stuff is VG - the guy says it is, but it is home-made stuff with a cheesy label.

Anyway, I kept researching around and have found hoards of people who claim to get canker sores after quitting smoking. This could be me, but I am surprised that this comes to develop a full 3 months after quitting. I had no problems up until 3 months after quitting (at least no noteworthy problems).

We'll see....
