Yes, good to join up, avoid the pitfalls. Welcome :)

Most vape stores are 'fair' to their customers (more expensive, but understandable). It's the brand stores you need to avoid. $120 for a $19.99 e-cig is about the worst I found. All sold by the "no.1 rated store" which just proves there are lies, damned lies and then greedy business-men who would take the shirt off your back. Then your shoes and your wallet. :)

Hello and welcome to the forum @Mo Lucky. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Some juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

Agreed. Since I have done some previous deals with Chinese suppliers, I checked on some of the prices an compared them to local pricing and you're right, they're terrible. I may just place an order online to avoid the local pricing altogether. I'm still looking, but I'm partial to the joyetech vtc mini. Just doing the research right now.

The Evic VTC is a nice little unit, especially as a beginner unit it is a very expandable platform to venture out with. TC mode support for both Nickel Ni200 and Titanium T1 temp regulated coils, and still support standard Wattage mode for regular kanthal and nichrome coils. I'll add some things to look at you will need on top of the device and juice to get started, the VTC uses external batteries, not internal like its older brother the Evic VT, so batteries I'd buy at least a pair of 18650 batteries and a nice decent charger for them. Battery Models that will serve you well will be the LG HG2, LG HE2/HE4/HD2, Sony VTC5, Samsung 30Q, and the two most well known work horses the Sony VTC4 and the Samsung 25R, you can find pairs of some of these batteries for about $15USD a pair at places like Illumination Supply, Liion Wholesale, IMRBatteries, Orbtronics, and RTDVapor, also most of these vendors will offer good chargers by Nitecore, Xtar, and Efest (LUC Model Line), you'll probably only need a 2bay charger like the Nitecore i2 or Nitecore D2, the i2 is a little older and can find one for about $10 to $15USD.

Thanks IMFire3605, really useful info. I will probably end up buying what I need for my immediate use and then probably place an order to Fasttech or a similar site for the rest of what I would like to complete my little kit. The batteries/chargers you have mentioned I will be looking into specifically as I am told that the quality of the battery, charging, drain, etc all seem to play a crucial part, and well worth knowing about and ivesting in the best products.

Regards
Mo

When I first starting vaping; which was only about 6 weeks ago, I didn't really think of it as quitting smoking but it was an easy transition for me. There's been a few occasions where vaping just hasn't seemed to get rid of my cravings but they passed quickly and I haven't had them since the first few weeks. @Susan~S gave you some great info for when you're just starting out. I hope it works out for you and you can give those nasty analogs a toss

Hey Crankkt.. I'm kind of playing around at the moment but I know now that analogs will be a thing of the past. My biggest problem at the moment is that I am not able to vape any anything above 20W, so it's kind of slow and steady at the moment. From what I understand, I have to be off smokes so that my lungs can get some time off and realize that i'm trying to do good by them. LOL! @Susan~S's info is awesome, much appreciated.

Seems like the vtc is a good choice even for seasoned vapers. Good unit all round. Howdy.

Heyt pfaber11, Howdy back bro.. I checked some other mods like the Kanger and the Subox but the Evic seems still to be my top choice.. I'm trying to work on a nice tank. My friend suggested an Arctic Hercules tank which I have tried and liked but I have also tried some of the high end tanks like the Vengence by the Council of Vapors, WOW! However, it's an expensive one to start off with. This is fun!
