hello fellow vapers, first post here

i made the switch to ecigs from analogs a few months ago and it was the best decision ive ever made. however, ive been having some problems lately with atomizers. theres no denying im a chain vaper, i go through about 4 ml a day in eliquid, but atomizers have only been lasting me a day or two before they start tasting "off". ive only been using backwoods brew juices on my vivi nova mini with and ego batt (1.8ohm LR atty, replacement heads) and ive already gone through 4 replacement heads in about a week which is completely ridiculous. i clean them daily, but im still getting a crappy taste. i do use multiple juices per atomizer, is this whats causing it? please help me before i go broke on replacement heads

Hi Taylor and welcome to ECF. First, 4 replacement heads per week is not at all unreasonable, especially if you're using dark, sweet, or unusually gooey eliquids. Some people have to change coils daily. I only vape clear and clean ejuices, so I don't have a problem with rapid gunk build-up, but I like vaping on clean coils so I replace them often. I use BWB menthols and espresso--no problems with the menthols, while espresso is much harder on the atties. Dirty coils can be cleaned and dry burned successfully many times.

Have you tried Kanger BCC clearomizers? I like them better then the ViVi Novas; T2, T3 and eVod are nice.

ETA: To me ViVi Novas taste funny--period. Like silicone or something.

yes its a vision, and i know how to dry burn, ive watched youtube tutorials. ive researched almost everything and i cant find any cure to the problem. and ive been using mostly clear juices. ive been making sure to rinse them out and dry them off between each tank. is it normal for attys to start tasting different as theyve been vaped?

I assume you have more than one battery, otherwise it could be a faulty battery that is putting out too many volts now. But if it does the same thing on another battery it wouldn't be the problem. Just sounds like the coil is burning from to high voltage. I've been using 3 vivi novas for over a month without changing the heads on any of them, I'm using ego twists

yeah i have more than one battery, i guess its possible they might both be faulty? because i used the atomizers that came with the ego starter kit and those lasted about a week amd a half

I use the same heads over and over again with cleaning and dryburning. I also rebuild them. Here lately some of the storebought heads have not been great. Personally I think that there may be a problem with the caliber of the silicone wick used. I would suggest rebuilding your own heads with purchased wick. It is not hard and the wick is not terribly expensive. That way you can try different mm wicks to see which is best for you. I am careful who I buy from.

Unlikely that both are faulty since it would be rare for even one to be. I'm gonna suggest you try out a different type of tank to rule out a battery problem because you should have no reason to change the head in under a week. Even a week would be a little too much. Stardust clearos would be on the cheaper end to test out and are a similar vape to vivi novas. Wish I could help and hope you figure it out

I'm going through a head a day on EVODs this week, so it's not a vivi nova-exclusive situation. I, too, am looking into rebuilding. I think the juice has a lot to do with it. I'm using 3 different eGo batteries (all C-upgrades) and tend to use bakery MBV juices. After one tank, my clearo gets to the point where all I get are dry hits. I think I am burning the coils out at some point. When I change to a new head, it's fine again. I'm confused/apprehensive to try dry-burning, because I can't dissasemble the heads - they are tiny!

I feel your pain, $1.50 a day I'm paying for heads is cray cray! I'm nervous about rebuilding, but willing to try to save money. Someone mentioned in another thread to hang onto the old heads in the case that you decide to take on rebuilding.

Well if you are using a head a day at 1.50 at least try dryburning. That's how I got started I just decided to see what would happen. I dryburn till the point my coils glow red. Then I let the head cool and rinse then let dry a bit. If u don't clean the coil you will still get a burnt taste. When you dryburn just pulse the battery at about 3.7v while the wick is damp.

I clean my vivi heads every couple of refills with vodka, and then rinse with warm water, then let air dry for a day, then dry burn by using the pulsing method. Each coil lasts at least a month or more. But I also only use them on a VV VW Vamo. Not sure what PV your using so perhaps a vv VW would be better, also when I fill a cleaned or replaced vivi I let it sit for at least an hour to saturate the wicks deeply. Hope u find a workable solution as I'm sure u well.

Not trying to hijack this thread, since its supposed to be about vivis right? But on the EVODs, I am using 1.8 and 2.2- same results. I read a bit about dry-burning and you have to take apart the head to see the teeny coils right - there are no visible coils on the head as is? I still haven't gotten to that point. My eyes suck, so I need a magnifying glass and maybe some tweezers to accomplish this. It's daunting right now.

I'm PM-ing some people for some "private lessons" in rebuilding - I just love this place, lol.

To the OP - hang in there - we'll all figure this out and soon become pros. Then we can help the newbies with the same issues. WE CAN DO THIS, lol!
