Almost every e-liquid I've bought makes me cough.

Every ecig I've tried has made me cough except for one of the overpriced mall ecigs (Brilliant Smoke). I have a couple 12mg liquids that hardly make me cough at all, one PG one VG. I also have a couple 18mg liquids that make me cough a bit, but I seem to adjust and then I'm fine. Those are both VG. Then I have one 80% VG 20% PG that I can't get used to, and it's 24mg.

I distinctly remember trying Brilliant Smoke 18mg, and I didn't cough at all, and the nicotine rush was almost immediate. That's what I've been searching for since I got into ecigs.

I have a SideSho and a V2, and the V2 makes me cough slightly less. What's going on?

How are you vaping it? Are your trying to vape the same way you used to smoke? If you search the forum you find alot of helpful post that go through the differences between smoking and vaping.

I've had problem's with coughing fits when it comes to certain juices and nic levels. I've vaped 24mg with no problem and tried 24mg of VG and couldnt handle it at all.

Higher nic can be harsh on the throat. It's your body's way of telling you 'Too much!' but then again it could be the way you vape. Too many variables. Try working on how you vape. Draw the vape into your mouth then inhale. First vape of the morning is always harsh in the beginning. I've adjusted now by half French inhaling and straight lung inhale, after drawing the vape into my mouth.

It can be tough trying to figure all this out but when you do? Hello! Sweeeeetnesss. :)

If you're new, sipping a bit of water before and after an inhale, to stay hydrated, can help. As previously mentioned, nic directly relates to throat hit, higher nic = stronger throat hit.

You mentioned being okay with both PG and VG eliquids at lower nic levels, which is a positive. Other than PG, VG, and nicotine, sometimes people will have sensitivity to a flavor (e.g., cinnamon, or even more specifically, artificial cinnamon), but that's relatively rare.

A little coughing as we develop our vaping "style" is really common, between getting rid of gunk buildup and becoming used to inhaling some vapor instead of smoke.

Not sure when you stopped analogs but when I first stopped. It took my lungs about a month to clear up from being off analogs. Luckily I read to stick with vaping because it's just the temporary side effects of quitting years of analogs and it will pass. Perhaps try a 6 mg Nicotine ejuice to see if you don't cough. If you don't, then it's the nicotine level, if not then it can be you're either sensitive to pg or vg. I'm sensitive to PG so if I do vape PG based e juice, I have to drink water during vaping (as I think someone mentioned that earlier). Best of luck and I hope you find your solution!

This may not be for you, but maybe try 'mouth-inhaling'. The nicotine in ecigs is absorbed primarily by the mucous membranes inside your mouth so you'll get it. I vape like a cigar smoker - light hits at the top of my throat, lots of lingering and tasting in the mouth. That's after being a deep-inhaling cigarette smoker. That style just seemed to have naturally evolved for me. :)
