OK I have been smoking for quite a while and since I quit, everytime I go into the Shell station where I used to buy my cigs one of my favorite cashiers ask me about how I quit. I had shown her my ecig before and demonstrated it but after purchasing some disposables from mad vapes that actually came in the same day as my other hardware, I figured it would not hurt to give her a pack of disposables.

After running home and returning with them and showing her how to aaseemble it, I encouraged her to take a good vape! (14 degrees outside here today). A customer (just as she reached across the counter for her newly purchased pack of Marlboro Reds) exclaimed "Oh my God! Don't use that! The FDA says they are bad for you!"

Instantly I felt my back go up. I turned and calmly said "You know, the FDA really p*sses me off." I went on to explain how what they found in ecigs was found in at least 1000Xs higher doses in her MB reds I also explained that unlike her MB reds, ecigs did not contain the tar and the other 4000+ chemicals and various carcinogens. At which point she says "Well I am not about to pay 150.00 for one of those things". Keep in mind I had just walked in and handed a pack gratis to a store clerk and I do not think I look like I am made of money. I calmly said "If you were to pay 150.00 for one then I can honestly say you got ripped off and it probably won't work worth a crap!"

Now I feel my tone was very calm but it really irked me that she was trying to frighten my friend out of trying something that may eventually save her life. I might add that as I was leaving, I asked if she had heard about the FDAs comparison of ecigs to regular cigarettes, she admitted that she had not. Smiling slightly, I said, "And just WHY do you think they won't tell the public that little bit of info?"

I would of snapped too! The F'ing FDA has to be brought to justice on this bull crap otherwise people will have ammo against us no matter where we go, provided that they heard about the FDA report. Anyway I'm personally sick and tired of people, after I educate them on what an E-cig is still call it smoking or a "pipe" as what my coworker calls it. I mean if your not gonna listen to one f'ing word I say, then don't ask me about it in the first place!

I asked my wife what she thinks about me quitting smoking. Her response was she likes the fact that there is no oder but that I am still smoking. To a non smoker if something has nic and smoke comes out it is smoking. Vapor and smoke to a non smoker is the same thing.

When I first started using my e-cig, my mother also touted the FDA and what they said. Mind you, this is a woman who has advanced degrees in Biology and Chemistry saying this to me. 8-o

I immediately started listing all the ingredients in my liquid plus showed her how my 510 works. She was amazed at how few chemicals actually go into my liquid compared to regular cigs, patches, nicotine gum, and the stop smoking drugs. NOTE: I DIY so I know exactly what is in my liquid.

Once I did that, she apologized. The ingredients in my liquid are items used everyday except the nicotine which of course I DID use everyday. As a matter of fact, she has now become an advocate for e-cigs!

Sometimes all it takes to make someone understand is an explanation. After that, if they still don't get it, they never will and it is their loss. :(

I commend you on trying to save a life because that is what you are doing each time you pass on the info we have learned about e-cigs.

Tell your wife this....

"Gasoline and Pepsi are both liquids. Would she enjoy a tall ice cold glass of Regular, or Super Unleaded?"

ROFLMAO:thumbs::w00t::thumbs::w00t::thumbs::w00t:.
This is the BEST line I have ever heard!!!! Great Job, I am going to use this line over and over and over and over and over again and again and again with all the boobs that 'think' they know what they are talking about.

You know, when people say, "OMG! The FDA says those e-cigs are dangerous!," I reply calmly, "The FDA? Aren't those the same folks who said Vioxx was safe?"

Also, it never hurts to mention how much collusion goes on between drug execs and FDA fatcats (and I hear there's a lot of "cross-pollenation" if you know what I mean)... it's never a bad idea to hit the FDA where it counts... in the credibility department... it's time folks woke up to the ponsey schemes played out daily by the big business/big government machine...

Radio Free Heresy, over and out!

And Chantix...
And they approved nicotine candy...
And deemed Cheerios a drug...
Hmmm. Yeah lets listen to them. Anyway, I had to note what an engineer told me at my work

"I heard those things are worse than cigarettes"

I mean...SERIOUSLY?

Hey, I was just trying to be nice to our favorite, government entity... heck, next thing you're going to tell me is that they give Schedule 2 narcotics to small children... DOH! 8-o

I try to be super mellow, when I run into the misinformed or ignorant. Since I vape at work and it's pretty public (retail store) it does happen. I usually start off with a line about "it's a nicotine inhaler" and work in some easy to recall key words: "same stuff that's in fog machine vapor", "no tobacco" and "helped me quit smoking" usually catch the attention of whoever I'm talking to.

If the conversation goes on, I usually take my 801 apart and go from there. So far (knock on wood) I haven't had a bad reaction.
