Having already quit smoking and dipping for almost six months, my wife gave me quite a few strange looks when I decided to take up vaping. I will tell you, in the short amount of time I have used both an eGo and my current Innokin Itazte VTR, this has done wonders for me. I don't know about you guys, but when I quite smoking, I hated the fact that I snacked all the time. This takes care of that, and still gives me that throat hit I missed.

Finding this community was actually quite difficult. The only place that carries vape gear locally seemed to be head shops (most of which are ordered off limits by the military, so those were out), and the local smoke shops seemed to be manned by employees who have no idea of the ins and outs of e-cigs or vaping. So I started with reddit, but I should have known better (more elitists than helpful there). I then jumped to youtube, and spent the better part of the weekend watching every video I could find. I believe I have learned more about rebuildables that I should have... just starting out, but it was still informative. In an area and job where I know zero vapers, it's rough to go on just a youtube video for e-juice reviews or mod reviews without seeing, smelling, touching the new gear. Luckily enough, ECF was recommended to me, from all places, reddit, so here I am.

Thanks, in advance, for helping this noob out. If there are any pointers regarding starting out, my brand new Innokin VTR, iClear 30S clearomizer, or anything else, please let me know.

C.A.D.

welcome, we all start at the bottom! 3 years ago when i started the ego's were just coming out on the market and it was odd to see other people out and about vaping. now there are a gazillion shops near me, not always the most knowledgeable people there or the best pricing but the internet has never failed me. you can always ask questions here and when you get your post count up you can ask in more direct forums for the devices, atomizers, rebuildable sections as well.

I'm as "out of touch" as you are, even though I'm stateside, and I can promise you that you will find all the help, instructions, friends, and humor you will ever need right here.
I have to order everything too, but I'm enjoying the greatest "hobby" and find everything I need.
I've learned to rewick, DIY and waaay overspend on neat toys ... but I don't smoke anymore, and that's the best part.
I can really breath and taste things again.
Just wanted to say congrat's, welcome "home".

Hi and welcome to ECF. I think there may be a little confusion on your location. You are located at Ft. Campbell, KY now, right? Not Hawaii. Just so we know if we can help you. The closest place I know of to you is Nashville Vapor on Charlotte Ave. in Nashville. Are you not allowed to go into a vape shop? I hope you can because the one I listed has some nice equipment and juices you can sample. It will probably take you about an hour to drive there.

off hand the only one i know of in hawaii that isnt a smoke shop is volcano, they are everywhere but dont have the best selection as they only carry their own product line. They do have plenty of juice to try and offer a sample bar. There is another place but not sure if it is a smoke shop or not.

i see your location is ky in your info area so not much of a clue there but you can try using Electric Cigarette | Eliquid | Supplies | Electronic Cigarette | Ejuice | Vapor Search USA they will list all locations so you can see if any arent a headshop

Nope, you're right, I am up in Clarksville, TN. I was stationed for many years in Hawaii, so I still say Aloha.
Regarding off limits places, they are usually head shops that sell anything related to spice or bath salts (if that properly puts where I can't go into context). Nothing down in Nashville is off limits so I will try Nashville Vapor for sure. I am glad you mentioned juices... as I am realizing with the VTR that I am burning through juice a LOT quicker than with the little eGo I was originally using. Not sure if that's the iClear or the VTR itself (suspect the iClear).
Appreciate the help, even from the folks in Hawaii. We still own a home on Oahu, so I am sure I will be back there sooner than later! Thx!

If you think it's hard finding vape stuff on Oahu, try Maui. ;)
Unless there's an awesome local gem I'm missing??

vapeshack808 is where i went to buy my first mech mod. i live on big island and have found my all day vape from there. its somewhere close to war memorial is all i can say, not knowing my way around. haha. they have a website tho. can google it. its a small hole in the wall shop. they make their own juice so gotta let it steep for a bit, but its fresh and made to your liking. knowledgable staff too.

hope this helps. haha.
