I immediately noticed the change to mandatory FSC here in MA because they would extinguish themselves (go out) in about a minute and even less than that. I was constantly having to re-light my cigarette because I would almost always smoke while in the middle of doing something and it would always sit for an average of 2 minutes between puffs. With the new FSC's I quickly got tired of having to re-light it more than once, so I ended up smoking cigs quicker.

Honestly, I didn't mind it so much because I knew the reason behind it was to help prevent more deaths and destruction because of careless smokers. Those who would toss a lit cigarette out of their vehicles in areas where they really shouldn't, those who are just plain hapless in where they put their cigs down between puffs, those who forget they lit one somewhere and those who foolishly smoked in bed, or too tired or drunk while sitting on their couch, etc. We all know that fire is a horrible thing.

Thanks to a good friend and all the information, motivation and support from the members here at ECF, I quit instantly after 36+ years and self-extinguishing cigarettes are now a part of my ancient history.

3 weeks and 4 days of a new beginning for me...

I love the fact that more and more people are getting into it, I just wish the govt would but out and it would become better that way, but the more people use it, I think the more likely it is to happen.

But I am glad to see so many people stop smoking.

Anyone else ever thought that with all the money the analogue cig companies are loosing that they might try to create their own ecig models to replace some of that money?

I have yet to find a single other person out and about who uses or knows about ecigs, and i live in Los Angeles. Heh, but im always spreading the word.

I as well have yet to see or hear of a single person IRL that vapes. I tell everyone, and no one has heard of it lol. Where are all the vapers?

Yeah, I had "heard" of e-cigs, but I thought they may have just been some kind of gimmick and dismissed them. Then, I heard on a local radio show that a vendor down in Virginia brought some ecigs in and the radio show host was trying it and saying they were really good, so that's when I started looking into it, and I'm sure glad I heard that portion of the show!

If there are 6k active users on this sight and it is a world wide site, based on the amount of people in the world, it is a small percentage of active e-smokers.

When I'm out and about, most people won't see me using it, some will. I'm sure I see a lot of analog users not smoking, which could make one think that if you don't see them smoking, then they don't.

I also drink beer, but almost no one in the world that I would run into wouldn't know, because they won't see me drinking.

What does all this mean?

Hell, I don't know! But I can say that since I started vaping last year, there is much more awareness by the public with regards to our e-smoking, I can breath a lot better, don't smell (like cigarettes anyway) and I spend a fraction of what I used to on my nicotine habit.

My 2c worth.

Has anyone else noticed how many new names have been appearing on the forum lately? It's great and also makes me wonder, just how many members are there here anyway?

HEYYY! I resemble that remark!

BTW, I've only been vaping for 6 days now, and I'm happy to report that my analog consumption went from a pack-a-day down to 3-5 a day in my first week... and it's only that high because I had some rolling tobacco I kept around for emergencies that I'm finishing off... haven't bought a pack in over a week now...

And you folks better get used to seeing some new names around here... I know I'm doing MY best to "spread the word" about vaping!

Layyyter!

I'm new here too, not many if any pepole around here in n. ga. have even heard of these things.I carry around a couple of unopened carts that came with the kits I have bought, and when someone is interested I let them give it a try. Almost always their next remark is "this is great. Where can I get one." I'm then happy to tell them about it. I just hope the govt. does not destroy this alternative we now have to those deadly sticks we have been addicted to in the past.
