It did not take me long at all either. I have two: the Protege and the Spade and I love them both. No more messing around with dead batts! lol

Hi, i have been vaping with 510 for three days now but tired of the short battery life of the 510 i'm charging batteries around the clock.

I was wondering if i should get a mod or wait for awhile...i have been reading about the silver bullet-Xhaler-GG-GLV

Any of those good for someone new?

Thank you!

I was in the same boat... had the 510 for a week and realized i needed a mod. You can definitely build your own, but I chose the Black Silver Bullet and love it. Found it here in the classifieds with 3.7v batts and charger for the price of just the body. I needed something that was a bit more durable for work(remodeling), its built like a tank!! I just got my 3v batts last night and have been vaping at 6v all day. Not sure I will be able to go back to the 3.7v :D I would definitely recommend it.

What exactly is a mod??

A "modification". When used as 'I need a mod' - that's a 'battery mod' - usually. See the 'modder's forum'. There are 'cart mods', atty mods, battery mods, cosmetic mods.

And in this case it's a battery mod where you use a (usually) better battery to run an atty. Prodigy, Chuck, Protege, Bartleby, BB, GG, SB, SD, etc. check the abbreviation sticky. ;-)

The batteries usually either last longer or have more power or both. While the oem standard ecig batt may be 3.7volts, a 3.7v battery in a mod can hold peak power so much longer it's as if it's an High Volt mod and can last much longer - sometimes days before needing recharged. Then you have the actual HV mods in 5, 6, and 7+ Volt mods.

Cart mods are 'straw mod', blue foam, ptb, etc.
