Since I'm a new member I figured I'd post this here and possibly have it moved/reposted at a later time if anyone likes the idea. Would suck to create a thread I can't comment on :)

***DISCLAIMER***

I AM WELL AWARE OF THE FACT THAT CHILDREN MAY BE ATTRACTED TO THE USE OF ANY CARTRIDGE MODIFIED TO BE LIKE A NOVELTY CANDY. ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OF NICOTINE FLUID MAY CAUSE HARM/DEATH. IN ADDITION TO THIS THE POTENTIAL FOR DETRACTORS OF PV USAGE TAKING THIS IDEA AND FEAR MONGERING EXISTS WITH THE USE OF ANY SUCH MODIFICATION. USE OF THIS IDEA OR ANY OFF SHOOT SHOULD BE USED WITH DISCRETION. THE AUTHOR NOR HOSTING SITE HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT MAY RESULT TO YOU OR OTHERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

The problem
Many vapers are experimenting with e-juice and want to sweeten their vapor, this has led a lot of people to use expensive/untested additives to their juice, hoping to find the right blend that won't ruin their atty/ejuice/and most importantly their body.

One possible solution
Instead of adding these chemicals into the e-juice hoping to vaporize it, why aren't we cutting out the middle man and bringing the sugar/alternative sweetener directly to the tongue???

Proof of concept
Took a fruit flavor blend I just made and took a hit, less then spectacular. I then licked the (CLEANED OF FLUID) mouthpiece and dipped it into my sugar bowl, licked the tip as I took a pull and...
HOLY **** now that's strawberry-watermelon!

Implementation
Since I have begun experimenting with DIY e-juice and candy flavorings, I felt that the next logical step would be to make some flavor free rock candy. I took 2 separate approaches. I made a bunch of small rock candy drops, literally a few drops of candy per, and made lozenges to place on my tongue when vaping.
I and also made toppers for my carts.
The toppers came from an idea I had while browsing for materials at the local hobby lobby. I saw that they had pencil topper lollipop sticks that got me thinking. I decided to use strips of aluminum foil to make an inner forms molded to my mouth piece. I then used small pieces of clean pipe that I oiled lightly to make the outer forms. The end result was hollow candy toppers to place on the mouth-piece of my PV.

Results
Just using plain sugar granulated sugar on the tongue is by far the cheapest/easiest method to use. The down side is that it dissolves too rapidly, requiring additional applications with each/every other hit. If you don't want to bother with candy making, just swipe a bunch of packets from your local coffee shop

Using commercial candy generally has flavorings that may interfere with the taste of your favorite vape, if you can buy old fashioned plain rock candy, get some. No muss no fuss.

Using the unflavored rock candy drops were convenient, easy to store/carry and may be less potentially controversial then candy toppers.

Using the Unflavored rock candy toppers was a mixed bag. In my subjective opinion, it allowed me to enjoy the vape more then the constant sweetness the lozenges would allow. The constant sweetness of the drops seemed to mask some of the lighter notes in the vapor, and also reduced the "pop" of each consecutive draw. I was licking the topper and then my lips between each pull, then allowing the sweetness to fade between puffs. I enjoyed this the most, however I realize that this approach has pitfalls. It is labor intensive on a small scale, has a higher risk for accidental ingestion of e-fluid, it is more difficult to carry around with you, it's also more potentially controversial.

I also highly recommend experimenting with adding some Tart and Sour Mix from LorAnn oils, it made my blend turn into a Jolly Rancher. I got mine at Hobby Lobby along with my Candy Oils.

Let me know what you guys think of my first post!

If it works for you I don't see any problem, to each their own, but why are you saying that people are using unsafe additives as sweeteners? Sucralose and aspartame (brand names: Splenda and Equal) are quite safe. They work fine for vaping when you add them as a liquid base to your juice and they are fully approved as food additives.

If you object to those sweeteners because of a non-scientific reason I suppose that's your prerogative, but I can't understand why you would consider them unfit for your consumption while happily dumping bottles of LorAnn's into your juice. What's the difference? The flavoring oils are just as man-made as the artificial sweeteners.

In considering you response, I see your point. Chemicals are chemicals, and yes these have been approved as food additives, I'm still against the wall on trying to vaporize anything I don't absolutely have to. Perhaps unflavored completely is what I'll try next and use flavored candies, since there is less risk of any chemical funny business when I'm not running anything through the atomizer, may even save me money on atty's. Anywho I'm heading off on a tangent. The reason that I posted this was an alternative to trying to vaporize these chemicals when there is a shortcut that is easy to implement.
Too bad I can't go back and edit my original post and clarify that there is no evidence to show that it is unsafe to heat these chemicals, (I'm still on the fence with aspartame, there is too much cross talk by the experts on that,) thanks for the feedback, clarification and the counter points.

I bought a bottle of sucralose, thinking I might try it in some DIY juice, but haven't actually used it yet. Even though I don't harbor any real fears regarding the safety of using the artificial sweeteners, I really don't like the taste of them and prefer sugar in food and beverages for that reason alone. They TASTE artificial to me, even when I consume them without knowing beforehand that what I'm consuming contains artificial sweeteners.

I agree with NCC - I hate the taste of artificial sweetners in coffee and such; I have no objection to it on a science basis though as its less likely to cause diabetes than sugar is.
I wouldn't want to mix actual candy with my vaping though (fun as it sounds) as that really DOES give a bad impression to youngsters who would then associate the one habit with the candy. Just my 2 cents as a parent.
