Hi guys,

Just typed up a nice descriptive post and lost it. So please forgive me if this post is a bit brief.

I have been really liking my Volt Spinner with the Aspire carts for the last year, but am getting concerned about the availability of the Smokeless Image stock lately.

I have purchased a new Kanger Evod/Emow Mega VV starter kit and have been genuinely disappointed with the quality of the vape. Complaints include:

- airy/thin vape (even with the air flow adjuster set to minimum.
- nasty metallic flavour.
- almost undetectable flavour from juice.
- worried about damage from flooding at the battery contact.

Bottom line is that I feel like I have wasted $65 on this Kanger kit and am still on the hunt for a worthy alternative to the Volt Spinner.

Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Thanks Dac. I have since bought an Aspire VV Starter kit and have found that the Nautilus mini is a huge improvement over the Kanger tanko (whatever it was called). That Nautilus Mini is also compatible with the Kanger battery, so my complaints are really only against the Kanger clearomizer, rather than the battery.

Do you have any suggestions for beginner rebuildables?

I'm sold on the Nautilus mini but I've switched to 510 batteries and run it at 4.8 volts. Simple to rebuild. The only downside it removing the tank since it must be refilled from the bottom.

My spouse has been waiting awhile for the SI X2 clearomizers to be back in stock. Emailed SI almost two weeks ago and they said "soon". We've had to resort to some off-brand smaller clearomizers that aren't any good. She likes the smaller X2 battery compared to mine but if you can't get clearomizers from SI which is a long term issue, time to switch.

Thanks dsgrey.

I still use my 2 Volt Spinners as my primary batteries, with any of the Aspire DBC clearos. At the moment I've got a few replacement heads still but as soon as I run out I'll be switching to the Nautilus Mini, with the Kanger and the Aspire VV batteries - full time. Smokeless Image really are dropping the ball with their stock, and from what I've read, plenty of people are jumping ship.

Hi Stevel,

Thanks for the suggestion, I have switched a few coils into the Kanger clearo and have noticed an improvement. The metallic taste is gone, and I'm getting better vapour production. But the favour really isn't good enough for it to be used as a primary clearo. I've now got my hands on a Vision Spinner II with the Aspire K1 & the eleaf iSmoka BCC-GT. Pretty happy with both at the moment.

Still open to any suggestions on what others are using.

Thanks again.

To anser the original question...

"Alternatives to SI Volt Spinners"

Any 510 eGo spinner really is the same thing as the Volt spinner except that it is 5!0 can you cant use the SI clearomizers on them. If you are looking to switch over to 510/eGo VV batteries, anything that is a name brand and is not a clone will suffice. I personally like the 1300mAh Vision Spinners. The 1600mAh Spinner IIs are OK, but not worth the extra money I don't think. However what I do like about the Spinner II is that the button light has different colors to indicate the battery's life.

If have SI aspire tanks (and like them), you could replace the coils to the regular aspire coils, and I believe they will work on the 510/ego threading.

I'm in the process of swapping to 510's, and my vivi nova with an adaptor works great. I'm waiting on more coils to try on my mini max and et.

Also, I just received something called a 5S. It's generic, but it has:
- replaceable drip tip
- ego threaded (510)
- comes single coil but uses kanger dual coil
- air flow adjuster
- 5.99

I cleaned it last night, and am waiting for the coil to dry before I try it. Even if it sux, I have kanger dual coils coming in the mail.
