Altoids powered usb passthru

So here is something that I was thinking of doing. Maybe someone has already done it but here it is anyways. Simple as this. Making a usb charger out of an Altoids can. And hooking up your usb passthru to it. Sorry I cant post a link yet but there are many tutorials online just google "altoids usb charger". What do you guys think of this would it work?

You must be referring to the MintyBoost - Minty Boost! - USB charger for your gadgets. I suppose that may work with appropriate rechargeable cells as long as the circuit can handle the load.
