Hi guys i just got my altus tank. However in unable to unscrew the bottom base for me to change the cotton. I've tried methods like soaking in a warm water but it still won't unscrew. Can anyone assist me with this issue. Thanks

I would try unscrewing with a rubber band on the top part and one on the bottom. That should give you a lot more friction on the parts.

Hope that helps!

You need to get a grip. Really.

I've seen all kinds of tips--stick it in the freezer, hot water, do both. Never really worked for me. It's all about getting a grip. Rubber or vinyl gloves, a balloon, scrunched up cling wrap--they all work sometimes. Depends on how strong you are. I prefer rubber jar and bottle openers because my hands are not that strong. And I'd rather use one of those gizmos than wrap my atty in a towel and attack it with pliers.

Just my :2c:

Good luck!
