I am really hoping i didn't skew the results by putting 'libertarian' as an option. Truthfully, it does deserve its own category but can't really be placed on a linear spectrum of left-->right which was the best I could do for the poll. I mean, if I am going to put libertarian should I have put socialist/communist/facist as other options?

Yeah, and then Tea Party, Green Party, and on and on. I'd disagree that Libertarians can't be placed on the spectrum. The political philosophy of less government involvement puts them to the right. Not to an extreme, but right nonetheless. Really, every party falls somewhere. Independent as a political philosophy/party simply doesn't exist.

I vape indoors, but only in large areas (such as malls, shopping centers, etc.)

I was at a bar and the bartender told me to stop. He told me that he wouldn't mind it except that previously a patron was using an e-cig, and the other people present thought the vapor was real smoke. One by one people started lighting up their analogs indoors. The non-smoking bar turned into a smoke house and it took some effort for the management to get everyone to stop (and to clean up the nasty smell).

Ever since this situation I respect indoor locations. However, 9 times out of 10, I'll still vape but keep the vapor stealthy ;)

The horrific thing is the 'Clean Air' folks (I forget the actual name of the organization) actually got a bill passed in a local city here close to me - that is now being fought tooth and nail in the courts - that bans smoking INCLUDING e-cigs. Period. No business can have smoking at all. No sections / special enterprises (bars / hookah bars / smoke shops / humidors) of any kind nor any public park or open public space such as parking lots, etc. unless you are in your car with windows up, or on your own private residential property. They snuck e-cigs in at the last minute and now of course all the green happy college kids and other vapers are in an uproar over the bill they voted for, and several businesses have banded together to file suit against it on grounds that it is against state law and the constitution (which it is).

People are so indignant, self-important, arrogant, and self-righteous. I can't get over how ridiculous these people and organizations are and that they honestly don't think that ripping out freedom is any kind of exchange for their own personal agendas / ideas. It just floors me every time I see it.

Don't like it? Show your displeasure by taking your biz elsewhere. Parks? Just move 10 ft. and you're done, or if you were there first just ask the person (horrible smoker) and I guarantee 99% of the time it's a non-issue.

It's just another example of how 'cute' people work. Those that won't wear fur giving reasons that it is inhumane and hurts the environment; when all the clothing, coats, etc. they wear made from synthetic materials do much more harm to the environment than harvesting a fur-bearer that more of will be there the next year, with no effect on the environment with proper management. Nothing but BS to make them feel important, cater to their emotional issues and are absolutely certain they must be right and everyone else must wrong (and must be forced to the 'right' path), regardless of the results.

Ok /rant sorry 'bout that.

Take care all,
- Hap

Welcome to the "liberal" agenda. I just had an arguement the other day with this liberal wacko who said the reason we have wars is because of men hating each other. Thats why animals never have wars. I said "What the hell are you talking about? Animals fight all the time!". Her response was "You dont understand. You are just a republican ..... who cares only about money." I then ask her what she feels more important in our country right now... Social issues or economic issues? She responds with "Social". I walk away laughing my .... off!

And if I offend anybody with this comment, I wish I hadnt, but I will not apologize.

I was downtown at the Jazz Festival when I overheard her talking to a freind about blaaah blah blah "why cant we all just share the earth and enjoy things like this and listening to music. It's the republicans fault everything is so messed up" and I just had to ask some questions lol.

I hope this girl isnt on the forums cuz I'm raggin her pretty bad. I'l stop. It's not very considerate even tho she drove me crazy.

Back on topic? Am I a jerk... :p

Legalizing drugs, freedom of choice on abortion, isolationism unless attacked. Where do these typical libertarian views go on spectrum scale? Definitely not right.

Here take the quiz see where you fall....
Advocates for Self Government

The reason Libertarians do not fit on the spectrum is because they tend to be "liberal" with social issues ("you do your thing, I'll do mine") and conservative on the fiscal/government-size side. While it may be true that more libertarians originate from the right (I'm guessing from anecdotal evidence)...there is also a sizeable portion that originated on the left.
