Just received some vapemail and I am hugely disappointed. Scratches and bizarre machining, especially for a high-end product, abound:

I know this sort of thing will happen with use over time, but I want to be the one that adds the battle scars. This K24 and Roundhouse look pre-used/secondhand.

What do you guys think? Would you let this go?

I'd ask for a replacement. Send them the pictures in this post. They may say they all look like that. You would have to assume they saw it on the way out to you though. Your call, but I'd say something.
I emailed them. What kind of recourse do I have if they say "they're all like that"? Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

These are the first authentics of anything I've ever bought, so I don't have experience in this market. If a clone has a scratch, you deal with it

Actually machining clones would be more consistent as they use CNC machines and produce on a large scale.
Limited edition authentics use 3rd party contracted machine shops that may or may not know or care what the parts is used for and is up to the modder's side to select and assemble the parts together.
Huh?

I would expect it to be scratch-free as an authentic. Most vendors will exchange it for you. Let's see what they say.

I don't think that's the way Steve operates

Looks Authentic design..............Manufactured off Shore:glare:

Can't see any small business Pulling that and not expecting a hit to Reputation.

*In Chinese manufacturing Mechanical mods are Lathed out, then dropped unprotected into a Crate until Count is met. Then the Crate full of Tubes Moves to the next Phase. A good 30% of the products can end up with some battle scars before ever leaving Manufacturing.
Their Rule - Everything ships.

Again, I don't think this is a clone, but who knows.

Does not have to be a Clone to be made off shore. Many Designers employ Cheap labor to fill production.
Often the Clone appears from the Same manufacturer, once the production contract is fulfilled.

I was giving everything a once over while packing up the return, to ensure I wasn't missing some major flaw that they could come back and blame on me, and shockingly found this (makes me wonder if Kennedy is selling shops blems at a major discount and then the shops are trying to see if no one will notice):
