This. It's only logical, but it's easy to overlook as well.

Pat, you have so many coils to choose from since your tank uses baby-beast-compatible coils, get a pack from each manufacturer, look which coils last you the longest, then stick with those...

I’m going to a vape shop after work. What should I ask for? Can you tell me other brands or models?

Hmmmmm, so i don’t remember what wattage I used when I tried the Strawberry juice. I just remember it tasting awful and being sad cause it was a new vape and coil. I tried lowering the wattage and it tasted better but you could still tell something was wrong. I decided to finish the juice left but last night it was literally burning my throat so I took it out and when I checked it didn’t seem burnt but it looked brownish. I washed it and it went back to white. I didn’t use it again obviously.

Now I’m using a new juice with a new coil. It’s sublime by Svrf. I don’t know the pg/vg ratio cauSe it doesn’t show on the box or bottle but at 60w it tastes delicious as it should.

I’m just worried becaue I don’t want it to burn Again. I’ve rAn out of coils and it’s really hard to find wismec coils here. I’m crying
One more tip for you. It's safer when you put a new coil in to start at around 30 Watts, allow it to wick and go up in wattage until you find your sweet spot. This helps if you have limited access to coils and don't want to waste them. Break it in.

Thanks for making me laugh y’all. That’s why I love the vaping community lol

So, can I use other coils with my same tank or do I have to change the tank in order to use other coils??

@VapourFlavour I’ve been trying what you said. It seemed logical to me to change wattage on new coils and juices. CroSsing fingers do this coil lasts at least a week yo

my bad. the gnome king tank you have doesn't use bb-compatible coils. by all metrics, they should be compatible, but wismec decided they didn't want that and changed the base thread a bit, so no cheap alternatives for you... :(

what you may try is the WM-M coils (mesh), they need fewer watts and might be a bit more robust towards getting clogged too quickly.

or..you can use the WM-RBA head to build your own coils..if you decide to go down that path..

Best video demo I've found on how to prime your coils and break them in properly. It's for a different tank, but the principles are relevant for all tanks.

Your tank is proprietary so you have to use the coils that came with it when replacing. Remember that sweet juices will decrease the life expectancy of the coil.

Thank you all for all your advice! :hubba:

So, another question. I guess it’s also a bad idea to use different juices with the same coil right?

*rolling my eyes at myself*
I frequently change flavors
just keep in mind that the first oh maybe 10 vapes will taste funky if they aren't in the same profile until the old juice is out of the wick and the new juice is in

Not always a bad idea. If the flavors are similar or of the same genre, I do it frequently. I have one tank that I use fruit flavors in: Cherry slush, Pineapple, Apple, or Watermelon. I just top off the tank when it is nearly empty with the different flavor. Same coil.

However, I wouldn't dare put my Coffee Cake flavor in that tank without rinsing it out and putting in a different coil.

Ok guys, so it’s happened again. I put a brand new coil in my tank yesterday. It worked just fine all day. Last night I tried my brand new Jam Monster and it was delicious. Then this morning I tried it and I started at 40w, then progressively went up to 50w and it gave me that mild burnt rubber taste. Brought it back down to 40w and it stopped. I have it at 45w right now and it doesn’t taste burnt but it’s leaving that funny sensation on my throat. I’m convinced I’m doing something wrong. Maybe it’s the temperature?

Edit: just brought it up to 48w and it’s leaving a burning sensation as well as burnt rubber taste when I exhale

It really doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong if it was fine last night, unless you left the tank empty?

Drop in coils are unpredictable, I went through 3 packs of bad coils from a local shop before I had enough and started building my own and bought an RTA.

There's a chance your shop has a bad batch.

When you replace this one, try staying at 40W and see what happens. Is this still a .4 ohm coil? What nic mg are you vaping?

The two coils that gave me this problem are the ones that came in the box with my vape. The guy i bought from is giving me some new ones today, and they’re gonna be the WM02. They’re dual and 0.15ohm. I’m not using any nicotine. ;_;

Also, I left my tank half full. First few hits were awesome as last night. Now it’s terrible!!!

I had that same problem with my breeze 2, some coils were fine and some as soon as I upped the wattage felt a burnt taste on brand new coils. I finally got fed up and started rebuildable tanks.

I think it's a real problem with a lot of coil manufacturers

The problem is I don’t know if I wanna go that route. It’s a bit terrifying to me :/
