Welcome!

Whatever it would cost for a carton (10 packs/200 cigs) in your state, is the amount you should minimally consider spending on this venture.
A pre-rolled PAD smoker is spending over $200 for the month. How many years did you smoke?
Get what you want NOW, you will be surprised how cheap an Ego battery seems in 6 months. Always have at least TWO batteries and TWO chargers. Get back ups for everything.

I'm a SYO smoker, so I'm getting away with about $35/carton, which is better than the $70/carton I've seen for pre-rolled. I'd like to do it in a way that vaping pays for itself after a month, but if I could start up for two weeks worth of cigarettes, that would be even better.

You're right, a backup would be good. I'll bump it up to 2 chargers. Does the rest of the list seem relatively complete?

Thank you!

If you're only getting one battery to start, why not a 900mah passthrough? Lets you charge and vape at the same time.

I don't know how to do pass through, and I'm worried about getting juice on my laptop. I'm sure that's an unsubstantiated concern, but there it is.

A pass-through battery charges at one end while you can still vape on the business end. No more chance of juice on your computer than if you were using it while vaping without charging. I can put up a pic if you need it--I'm charging my pass-thru system now.

Don't forget to get enough juice to get you thru til you want to make another order. I smoked 1.5 PAD of Newport 100's and 1 ml/day of 2.4% (some companies call it Strong, Extra Strong or will number it some sort of 24) is pretty accurate for me.

Otherwise your list looks good--you might be able to cut to 2 batteries to make room for the liquids. Keep to small sample sizes if they're available if you can--once you're off tobacco even part way your tastes will change. I loved strong menthol at first in October when I started, but now it's too much throat hit for me and I prefer fruit and dessert flavors now.

Seriously, you HAVE to get 2 batteries. Think about how long you want to go without smoking (sleeping doesn't count) and then understand that you will be vaping twice that amount at least for the first couple of months. I don't think I ever didn't have my e-cig out of my hand or pocket except for when I slept when I first started. If your battery dies during the day, your screwed. You need one to switch to while charging the other, even if it's not until that evening. Try litecigusa.net if price is an issue.

Yeah, you and the others have a point. It would be pretty dispiriting to have to go back to analogs because I'm relying too heavily on one battery and it died.

You take a bridgeless atty (the heater part of the two-part above, minus the mesh bridge - it looks like this) and just drip 1-2 drops at a time into it, then use it just like any other cartomizer until it is dry. Repeat as needed.
[/list]

Where do you find 'bridgeless' attys or do you make them yourself by removing the bridge of a normal one?

Good to know about the computer charging...I had no idea. That's the only way I've been charging my eGo's from the start. I'm wondering how long I should leave them on the charger...because I usually charge overnight when I sleep. That way I know it's fully charged. But if I were to wall charge during the day with usb cable, how long? It isn't fuuully charged as soon as the light turns green is it?

Hi everyone!

I recently had a problem with my laptop after plugging my MP3 player into it, which was strange, because I've been doing that for years. That, along with advice from this forum (THANKS!) has given me the idea of keeping a sort of charging/juice storage area. I don't know how tall the e-juice bottles are, but I thought a small shelf with apothecary drawers underneath right next to an outlet where I can keep my charger plugged in would be a good way to keep everything together and organized.

Of course, this is all great in theory - I don't have a kit yet, but I ordered my stuff from Apollo today, along with a dozen 5ml bottles of juice from MadVapes. Next, I go all stalker on my postal carrier!

I'd think of it this way. You can get by probably some time on one battery few juices you know you like (if you've tried others) a few tanks or clearos or your prefered method of delivery just fine. Honestly a good majority of people that make the plunge do so slowly, and after a few weeks alone will pay itself off just vaping 75 percent of your smoke times. So if money is that tight get what your alotted at the time. Don't stretch yourself to where you can't afford to survive. Usually a ego c battery does get me by for a day and a half myself. after 6 months went down to a day using two. So honestly I wouldn't see a problem with charging the same battery everynight for when you start but thats just my experience. I would honestly shoot for more tanks, clearos, juices myself to start, and maybe stick to your one or two battery idea; however within the first month I would be looking to buy more batteries or upgrade at that point if you feel ready to get something new. I just know if you buy a reasonable battery to begin with that clearos, tanks, atomizers will wear out drastically faster than your battery usually will....but again just my opinion. So my conclusion, work with what you got financial wise. Don't dig yourself in a whole, take it slow, and you'll be alright.........

Their T-go is like a regular eGo, with different threads. The adapter is as long as a 510 atty and looks silly, but it works. I only use 1 juice in the T-Go clearomizer I bought, and only at home. The one thing I wish Apollo had was a larger (1100 mAh) eGo batt. I bought one from theecig.com and I love it! It lasts much longer that the 900 mAh batts.
BTW- I haven't found a better tobacco juice than their Sahara.

I think you're right, the clearos are going to be the bit to consider as far as finances go. If I've been reading this right, they're only good for a couple of weeks.

I figure someday I'm going to probably expand the number of batteries I have. I ordered two of the TGos, so I hope that's enough to keep me going through the day. I was only going to get one battery, but some of the others likened it to Russian Roulette,, and I figured I'd better take them seriously.

Rebuildables are good for longer, but (in all of them) avoid cinnamon or citrus unless it specifically says its safe. (The juice or the tank can be safe - the local shop has a cinnamon that doesn't break tanks, for example. And some tank materials are safe for tank-breaker juices.) They cost about the same, maybe a couple bucks more, and then you just replace the atty inside when it goes bad. (New attys are $1-$5 depending on vendor/type/etc. Less than a new clearo.)

I went through the list of juices that can harm equipment, and I'm sticking with non-citrus/cinnamon/mint flavors. Luckily there's plenty of flavors to choose from.

If I ever switch over to a glass tank, I'll try Candy Cane and some of the cinnamon flavors, but for now, I'm pretty pleased with the options that are out there.

No glass needed. Anything that is polypropylene (eg these tanks but not these) is safe, anything that is polycarbonate is not. And it is reasonable to assume its polycarb if it doesn't say.. (Polycarb tends to be cheaper than polypro, and they are both a LOT cheaper than glass/pyrex.)

That said, I really want a VVV pyrex tank but its gonna have to wait. The wif is already mad at my spending on the new hobby
