Am I doing this right?

Hello vape veterans,

I've been trying some new flavors and still figuring out where to put my volts/watts.

I have an istick 50w using 1.2Ω coils, I do rebuild my coils (which has been a journey in itself)

26 ga. Kanthal 7 wraps, its the only way i get 1.2Ω coils with under 2mm spacing

Generally I run my 50w @ 4.1v - 4.4v with my vents either wide open or 2 hole.

There are "charts" that start at 1.5Ω coils at 8.5v, the few that have 1.2Ω on them, suggested around 3.3v/9w?

am I completely off the mark here? and my vapor clouds are smaller than my pen style if I try the 3.3v/9w setting -

Being new with this setup and trying to use a step method to find where its ok but I feel I am not doing this right-

Occasionally I get a bad burnt taste- I dont want to burn up the wick -_-

Any idea what I should do?

Thanks for taking time to give suggestions

The proper voltage or wattage setting depends on you juice flow (enough to keep the coil wet at all times to cool it) and your air flow (enough air to keep the coil cool, yet still vaporize your juice)

Easiest way is to start low, take a few puffs, and slowly raise the voltage / wattage until the flavor and vapor suits you. If you start getting burnt hits before you are getting a nice cloud of vapor, it points to insufficient air flow or juice flow.

The perfect vape for you depends on a balance of all three factors - juice, air and watts.
