I have an eGo-T battery and two Kanger T3 tanks as my setup. I'm using redbull, rockstar, and menthol juices from MBV, all are PG 65 and VG 35 with two flavor shots.

I decided to get a meter to check the Ohms, bought some 2mm wick and the correct gauge of Kanthal wire. I reassembled my tanks correctly, each were in a happy medium between 1.9 and 2.1, staying mainly right at 2.0, which is what they're supposed to be at (I measured them right before tinkering with them to replace the wicks).

Now my menthol flavor is fantastic. Cool, refreshing, flavorful. I adore it.

But that's not where my questions lie. My problem is the energy drink flavors that I'm using in my other tank. They were mainly like this before I replaced the wick as well... I don't really get any flavor from them. It's like a mildly burnt flavor, like all I get is unflavored juice. The vapor production and throat hit are really great, everything that I want.

But why are my energy drink flavors giving me so much trouble? Am I so into the drinks themselves that the juice is flavorless? Or maybe I need more flavor shots? Or, is a T3 not really the best choice for those flavors? Or maybe 2.0 Ohms is too high or low for an eGo battery? Maybe a 2mm wick isn't ideal for the juice?

I don't know... What am I doing wrong?

Many flavors vape differently at different power levels. It also depends on the PG/VG ratio of the eliquids. Where are you getting your juices from? The biggest problem I have found is the quality and consistency of different juice vendors. Normally I'd a juice is getting inconsistent results from the same vendor using different flavors of juices than the quality of the product is lacking

Hmmm... with 2 extra shots, you should be able to taste the energy drink flavors. It is possible they need to steep longer and be shaken up a lot. How long have you had them?

Did you quit smoking very recently? If this is the case, a lot of folks have trouble tasting anything for a few weeks.

It is not a surprise that you are tasting the menthol, as it is just a very strong and overpowering flavor. In fact it could be overloading your sense of taste so vaping anything after it is going to seem weak. Try vaping the energy drink flavors first thing in the morning to see if this is the case.

To be honest? I've only had them since Wednesday or Thursday. I have an older redbull juice that's about 3 weeks old that only has one flavor shot in it though. Sometimes I can taste it better, and other times I can't.

The smoking thing might be a part of it though. I've dramatically decreased the amount I smoke. I've gone from half a pack a day to about 2 or 3 a day. Maybe 5 depending on the stress level at work... But I also go days without an analog cigarette as well. It varies.

I'm going to try to completely quit, but I'm not too sure if that's the only thing affecting the flavor. I blow it through my nose too since I can smell better than I can taste and I can get the flavor in a much stronger wavelength like that on occasion, it's how I can test the potency of the flavor in the juice. But the smell of the vaped juice is nothing like any energy drink I've tasted... More bland and burnt, really. Though the unvaped juice in the bottle smells strong and potent.

I'll also let them steep for awhile, to let the flavor set. Though the older juice has the same effect.

Edit:

Maybe I should buy and test more flavors to truly figure this out. If I continue to have problems though, then this thread will still be relevant.

In my humble opinion it is most defiantly an age (or as some people call it a steeping) issue. I never even try my juices before they have sat for 24 hours without their caps on, and 2 weeks sitting on the shelf with an occasional shaking and "venting off" of the air inside the bottle. Some juices require even more aging ... for some reason tobacco and darker juices seem to require more time.

When I first started I'd try the juice right out of the mailbox and either get no taste .... or a chemical/perfume taste that would make me gag.
