Am I the only one that finds the weird flavors scary?

I'm currently vaping "no flavor" juice, boring, I know. I checked out Mrs. T's and all those flavors sound kinda scary to me, lol. NO disrespect at all towards Mrs. T, I've heard the products are great. I finally ordered some pomegranate juice from Diyflavorshack and like it pretty well. That's about as wild as I get flavor-wise, lol.

I'm thinking it's probably me, I don't get a huge "kick" out of food, guess I'm not that flavor oriented. Or maybe it takes more than 3-4 months to get your sense of taste back. I smoked since I was 15, can't really recall if I had a great sense of taste back then.

I'm not a fan of most flavors myself either....

I'll usually give it a try, find it not too bad, but my use won't last and I'll end up giving it away or using them to try an intermix just for giggles.

Currently, I'm now back to tobacco flavors after a long stint of coffee & chocolate flavors.

Where tomorrow brings me...... who knows, lol.... but for now I'm quite happy using Vapables.com's "Do More Eh" juice.

Have you thought about mixing your own aspen from unflavored?
Yes I have done some DIY but not really into it, just don't have the time sometimes. Even then when ya mix that artificial flavoring in you really don't have any idea what your vaping. I know we have all thoroughly researched PG and nicotine but the artificial flavoring seems to have been left behind. I am really quite suprised no else seems to really care, interesting. Maybe its just me:)

The artificial flavorings being used are mostly food additives already. I think the assumption is that they've already been tested and approved for eating, so they should be OK for vaping too. That's how I see it anyway.

Yes I see your point Badstate but as you said we are *assuming* and what I think you are describing is a group behaviour where we just follow the mass. I really don't understand why you wouldn't want to get to the bottom of what your vaping. Look I am with ya cause I have been vaping some delicious flavors but it also got me to thinking what is it in artificial flavorings that we inhale daily. Yes I have been known to be .... at times, sorry.

To each his own but I love almost everything I have tried minus the tabacco flavors. For me its all about the flavor and I don't want to be reminded of a cigarette whatsoever.

Currently, can't get enough of the Atomic Fireball from TV.

How many years did you smoke cigarettes , Did you ever question what was in them ?????? & did that stop you from using them??

Smoked for forty five years, yes quite often questioned what was in em to hook ya so hard. Still no answer to that either, it was definitely designed tho. Nope never stopped smoking, I was addicted to the bone. I ran into e-cigs and was able to quit and boy I was/is one excited old man about the whole thing. I am just curious and not trying to get anyones ire up. I find it odd that the ingredients are not readily available to artificial flavorants. Aren't you curious, I mean all of us are vaping this stuff 24/7 and it appears no one knows. My question only pertains to the artificial flavorants.

I do confess that the flavours worry me slightly, too. The thing is, there is not anything I can do about it anyway, except to vape unflavoured, which I'd rather not. There is no information at all out there.

So I end up not caring, since it would not make a difference if I did. After all, I did not care very much about what I smoked, either. And while ingesting something is quite different from vaping something, I should not think there is downright poison in our liquids; nor do I assume that food flavours are only tested at room temperature.

However, should there ever be information available, I will sure be most interested.

There are some suppliers willing to tell us what they use. For instance Tasty Vapor answers ALL questions and will tell you which flavors contain artificial ingredients. I rave about them often because I notice an incredible difference in taste and how I feel when I vape his product. Sometimes I feel like I'm coming across like a salesman. Promise, no commission here, just very impressed with his product and his honesty. :)

I don't doubt many salespersons honesty, I just doubt many of them even know every single ingredient in their juices. Recipes for flavours are not exactly usualy in the public domain. And even if they can tell you, for example, that this or that extract is in their juice, do we indeed know the effects of these extracts when vaped? Usualy not, I should say.

Which does not stop me from vaping Chinese clove-flavoured juice, though. And I am still looking for a decent, water-based cheese flavour I'd like to try with roast chicken. Yeah, I am slightly freaky. :D

+1 - Geoff has great stuff, and I also greatly enjoy Ms. T's juice as well, in particular the Bananas Foster Coffee with Whipped Cream that I am vaping at this moment.

Whatever is in this stuff, I feel better than I have in years. And it has to be better than inhaling the ingredients added to FSC's.

So, aspen, let me make sure I understand where you're coming from. Are you worried about consuming the artificial flavorings in general, like by sucking on a Jolly Rancher, or are you worried about an unknown effect caused by inhaling them?
