So I am thinking of a cart mod and let me know if I am too far off or if my idea is completely useless.

I am thinking of a cart that has a squeeze feature or button of some sorts that directly drips a drop of e liquid on the atomizer at the push of a button. Like a mini dropper bottle inside a cart but recessed enough that there is no way for the dropper to melt.

Thoughts??

It would be a good feature, but I find if you do a straw mod on the cart and try less stuffing(have to experiment) I can control how much juice wicks. If it starts to flood in stand it cart down for awhile and any dryness stand it cart up. I use 1/3 normal cart filler with a straw mod.

A laser that would get hot enuf to atomize the ejuice would use a good amount of power(alot), and have a chance of blinding you(forever)

dont think would be too good,

but A+ for thinking out of the box

Thanks for the compliment, but if you look at the current configuration of an atomizer, the metal foam partially surrounds the heating coil. Not to mention a cartridge on top of that. I cannot see how a laser would blind someone while vaping. I've seen a blu-ray laser light a cigarette & wooden matches within a couple of seconds. YouTube it. I do agree battery power is problematic at best. I submitted the idea to an r&d guy in china. he liked the idea, but posted the same problem regarding battery power.

The laser is not so far-fetched i believe. The technology (efficiency) has advanced quickly.

A standard atty consumes something like 5w. Seems a lot, too much for a laser - but this is to heat a fairly 'big' coil; once heated, the power needed is actually only about 2w; plus a laser need only heat a small dot and the wasted power could be far less.

There will be difficulties in terms of juice flow and exactly how the laser transfers its power, but the day for laser based e-cigs will come ...

But not so soon (maybe 2 years or so)

One aspect that comes to mind is cleaning a laser powered atomizer. Two drops of sterilized water could clean a laser lens within minutes. No more soaking, or praying for just one more good puff.

I'm confident a 3-5 second burst of concentrated light would vaporize eliquid. Keep the current atomizer configuration/design the same. Just replace the heating coil with a 3mm laser.
