If I hadn't seen it I would never had believed it.
Efest's new 20700, to be sampled soon, is being released with just a "Max continuous discharge" rating of 30A on the wrap and on the web site.

Web page: Efest IMR 20700 3000mAh 30A flat top battery (coming soon) - Batteries - EFEST

If this is the Sanyo NCR20700A or the cell used by iJoy and Ampking, all true 30A cells, then this is very good news indeed! If this is just the 16A Sanyo NCR20700B then I will be very disappointed...to say the least.

Until recently, this Efest 20700 was shown (rendered) with a pulse rating on the wrap. I don't know what changed Efest's mind but I'm very happy they did.

I am hoping that this new Efest rating setup will be carried over to their 18650's as our community sorely needs the companies other than Samsung/Sony/LG/Panasonic/Sanyo to accurately rate their batteries. Especially with the inevitable additional battery regulations coming our way over the next year or two.

I do not know yet when I will be testing these Efest 20700's.
I do not know yet when or where they will be available for purchase.
As soon as I have any more information I will post it.

Efest could be a respectable battery company if they didn't post misleading max power claims. I've only owned a couple of Efests and I ignored the 35A claim on the wrapper and just used it at 10W. I got great performance at low watts. That same 4 year old Efest still works fine, but I only use it now in rotation in a 5W Cree LED flashlight.

I agree! I don't sub ohm and I've Tootle Puffed Efests into the ground back in the day. Great batteries for Tootling!

I sub ohm with efest batteries the 2500Mah 20A work extremely well. While they did/do have false or misinformed ratings on the first runs(lite colored purple wraps) the dark purple wraps do work extremely well.

I am not a fan boy of efest I am not coming to their defense I am just saying they are getting there act together and do have performing batts.

I have since stopped using them though and gone back to my original preferred MNKE and LG HE4's,but I do still have a few of the efest around that are in rotation.

They've proved that they can't be trusted though. In the past they've changed the battery under the wrapper without prior warning so you can't really go by tests of them either. It'll be a long time before they can prove that they are now trustworthy. Personally I doubt that they ever will.

I agree. If they'd just post the OEM manufacturer's ratings on the shrink wrap all would be kosher. Claiming ridiculously high amp ratings helps no one and actually reduces the number of knowledgeable customers who might otherwise buy them.

Maybe they've realized that as the market has matured, they just can't get away with their old practices any more.
They've certainly seemed to be improving, and this may well be another step towards respectability.
The realisation that there is someone (Mooch, of course) who will and does test their claims must have come as a shock to many of the re-wrappers and cloners out there, and Efest seem to have been faster than most in changing their business model to recognise the maturity of the market. Being more honest is therefore just good business sense.
It's become increasingly clear with regulation on vaping around the world that if power-cell wholesalers don't get their act together, their entire market could easily disappear, which I doubt any but the worst of the cash-in-and-run brigade would want.
