I've been vaping for nearly 4 months now. I have issues with dry mouth, numb tongue, and losing my flavors VERY quickly, and I have had these issues all along, for the past 4 months. I always have 2 or 3 tanks going with different flavors so I can switch back and forth throughout the day or I can't taste any e-liquid, even though I taste my food and drinks just fine. I've recently started DIY liquids, like just yesterday I started using my own mixes. I thought maybe if I had some control over what went in them I could improve my mouth issues. I heard or read that pg can dry the mouth more than vg and it's not real easy to find a 100% vg mix. So I'm mixing with 20% DW, my flavorings, VT nic and the rest vg. I'm still very dry in the mouth, maybe even more than before and I drink a ton of water, but I noticed this evening that when I took a mouth full of water and swished it around in my mouth like I usually do, the water got kind of thick, like maybe there was a thick coating of glycerin coating my mouth? It went away after a few mouths full of water. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I vaped for a bit more and tried it again. Low and behold, the same thing happened. Now I'm not a chain vaper mind you; I only go through 2 maybe 3 ml a day, so I'm not sucking on my pv all the time. Anyway, my question is: is it possible that the increased vg in my liquids is causing a heavy coating on my tongue, causing greater dryness and numbness or am I just hallucinating? And if so, any suggestions what I can do to remedy the issues, since I was having this same problem before when I was using liquids that were 50-60% pg as well.

Thank you for your input everyone.

Try the usual suspects first. Are you drinking LOTS and LOTS of water? Being very careful to make your dentist proud when you brush and floss your teeth plus the way you keep your tongue well-scrubbed? Are you keeping your devices (particularly your tips) clean to insure nothing is contaminated? Last, have you tried using a good mouthwash to kind of 'refresh' your mouth?

Am sure others will bring more ideas to the table and hopefully help you find some solutions.

If it were me, I would get a bottle of 100%PG and a bottle of 100%VG liquid. See if one or the other makes a difference. This will help you find out if PG/VG is the culprit or not.

If you get same results with both, then it may be your flavorings. I gather that you DIY? If so....does the same thing happen with other liquids that you may get from a vendor?

This is my first batch of homemade e-liquid and the first time I've noticed the feel of having a coating in my mouth. BUT I have had the extremely dry and numb stuff going on all along for the past 4 months. I've used store bought liquid that was pg/vg respectively 60/40, 50/50, 40/60, and 0/100, so quite a range. I will try using them both separately. Thanks for the suggestion
