Dear Vamo V5,

I love you so. 95% of the time you work so well. Protank Mini 2's and Hypertanks sit atop your glory and beautifully satisfy my craving for sweet, flavorful Nicotine. You made my day so much easier.

I do have a question though. Why, oh why, must that last 5% exist? Randomly scorching my tastebuds with your firey, smoke-like, vapor. Haven't I been nice? Haven't I loved you so? Even lowering your voltage so you don't have to work as hard still doesn't make you happy. 5%. 'Tis but a miniscule portion of your time.

What can I do for you to appease you? I'll do anything to make you happy. I can rely on you for almost the entire day.

Sincerely,
CShaver

That's not your mod doing that, it's your topper, wicking problems.

I've actually thought the same thing. However, without changing a single thing (no shaking or re-priming, same coils, and within seconds of taking it off the Vamo) and just placing the tank on my Spinner, it works flawlessly. No burnt taste.

What it seems like, is the Vamo's output just skyrockets for a few pulls. One minute it'll be going good at 4v, and using the same tank for hours, then all of the sudden for like 5 pulls, the vapor gets really warm and tastes very burnt.

Oh the woes of regulated mods and tanks.

Dear MVP2,

How I love you so! You never let me down! Even on the rare occasion I have to tease your little pin up to make a good connection. You never fail me and always provide the best vape! The day will come in a year or two, when I will have to put you to rest. A sad day it will be, but for now it doesn't get much better then this!!

Sincerely,
Your best Bud!

P.S. I hate to break the news like this but as soon as the adoption agency (101vapes) calls, I plan to adopt another little MVP2 brother for you!

HAHA Well played. Well played indeed.

P.S. - Don't worry, I'm on the adoption agency's mailing list as well. (simply for the price. I do still love my Vamo though )

Thera another adoption agency for the MVP2 at that price on EBay if you aren't opposed to buying on there. I think the eBay store is called vaping town? They have those Energy kits too.

I'm on Ebay now. Cheapest available is 44.99 with free shipping. Only 5$ more so I'm contemplating ordering it. My Vamo is only a week an a half old though. Too young to be on it's own without me around.

Oh goodie I'm not the only one who is having this issue with a V5. Can't be the tank as putting the tank on an MVP, mech or Vamo v2 'solves' the issue. At first I too thought that the issue was the coil/wick so I replaced the assembly twice. Still doing it. Almost like the V5 is just kicking the power through the roof for a few hits then coming back down to earth.

Contrary to popular belief and some device descriptions at vendor sites, the V5 does have a mean/RMS setting. Press and hold the left button for about 10 seconds. Sounds like you may be set at mean instead of RMS.

If it says Mean, release the button and repeat to set it to RMS.

Hope this helps.

Honestly, I really wish this was the problem. It would be a very easy fix. Unfortunately, at least for me, my V5 has been in RMS since before my first vape on it lmao. I tend to do in-depth research on things, and after watching countless videos and reading even more reviews, I knew that's what I had to do right out of the box lol.

I have read about this problem recently with the Vamo, and had I known about it, I probably would have opted for a different device. That being said, the Vamo has seriously impressed and satisfied me in all other aspects. I just with this power issue that happens completely randomly would go away lol.

Ironically, I was experiencing the same thing with my Vamo yesterday, which was strange because it never happened before. Like you, I took the same device and put it on my Ego Twist and there was no burnt hit, and I didn't change or add anything ... so weird. Maybe my Vamo is mad at me because I really don't use it anymore, its been neglected in favor of mechs. But I was trying a new clearo and I wanted to see how it worked on different devices ... the Vamo was a fail ... but its still a good ohm meter ... I think

Lol, I hope I can figure this out because I'm already contemplating ordering a MVP 2. I have a feeling that if I order it, the day I get it is when I'll be able to fix the Vamo

Well here's an update. It got way worse. When I first got it, I was vaping 4.3v with no problems, no burnt taste, no popping coils, nothing.

Now, I can't vape above 3.8v or I get the burnt taste, and now I'm popping coils. I absolutely cannot be the only one who can't run a 2.5ohm coil at 4v+. This sucks because 3.6-3.8 gives me no throat hit, and vapor production is almost nonexistent.

Honestly, I had it at 3.0v last night. It's lowest setting, and lower than most egos go. It popped a damn 2.5ohm coil. That, to me, still makes me think it's firing WAY higher than it should be.

All this is seriously baffling me. My MVP 2 that I ordered on Monday should be here in about an hour when my mail comes. If that fires everything like my ego does, I'll be happy (since these came setups are still working fine when transferring straight from the vamo)
