"Analogs"

Semantics, yes I know. Sorry. But does the term "analog" used to describe tobacco cigarettes bother anyone but me? 99% of PV's use strictly analog technology. Most aren't digital or computerized, they are simple battery and circuit devices. Setting fire to tobacco leaves however is not analog technology. Oh well, I will forget about it and go back to being bothered by something more important, like why don't kids pick up after themselves? Geeez...

i call them cigarettes, some call them squares, yosi, cancer stick, lucy call them what ever you want as long as the person you are talking to knows what you are talking about.

I don't think the term is an attempt to specifically describe cigarettes as a technology. It's more, old way = analog, new way = digital. But nobody really refers to ecigs as digitals. And no, it doesn't bother me.

This subject comes up about once a month here .... ;-)~ I just call them what they are. Cigarettes. Some people feel the need to demonize the objects of their addiction or bad behavior by assigning negative names to them. I guess it helps them somehow. I think its silly to call them anything than what they are. That's just me. Cigarettes are like Firecrackers. They are both perfectly harmless until you put one in your mouth and light it on fire ........ ;-)~

E-cigs....analogs....coffin nails....PV's...APVs...stinkies...tobaccotubes, whatever. As long as we're off the bad and onto something healthier, its all good.

Yes, it kinda sorta bothers me as well. It's all "analog" on either side. Sure, some PV's have digital circuitry/boards/chips, but the burning is all analog.

Do I use the term? Sometimes. It's just a figure of speech at this point.
