Hi everyone. I have igo-l which I have yet to use. I have used the little piece of wick that came with it to practice making a coil. Put it on meter and got a 1.5 ohm which I was happy with. But not so happy about how it was attached to posts. I took it apart and going to practice again. I got a 100 ft of 30ga kanthal

Question? I've seen mention of positive and negative posts. Which is which? And any do I need to know which is + / - ?

I want to get coil as close as possible to post but could should not touch post?

Is it suggested to wrap legs of coil around screws or just hook wire on post enough to connect?

I plan to eventually use cotton balls but while I'm in the learning stages I'm going to use silica wick. Any suggestions of where to get good silica ? I want to get 2 & 3 mm -- Best bang for my buck. Links?

Feel free to post pics of your igo-l. It would be much appreciated!

TIA for a any help! :D

I dont have an Igo-l but have been building for awhile on the Igo-w for a bit so I may be of some help for a few of your questions.

As far as the negative and positive post. Your positive post is always going to be the center one, negative on the outside. Positive post will always be in the center as this runs straight down to the battery.

coils as far as I know should not be touching post but should be close so you dont get "hot legs" I may be wrong but I beleive my coils have touched the posts with no ill effects. I have found that you want them out closer to the cap though for better air flow. Also adjusting the coils up or down gives more throat hit. Higher up gives more TH lower Less.

Also as I beleive the Igo-L and the Igo-w I have come with very small holes in the cap. I would suggest making them bigger. They are small. I have not got around to drilling out my cap, but more air flow will create more vapor production as your coils need air to create vapor. The standard holes are just too small and honestly its like sucking threw a straw.

I run cotton threw my Igo-w you want the cotton to be snug but not overly tight either, takes some time to get the right tightness but flavor is good.

Hope this has helped, I tried my best. Best of luck in your adventures in vape world! ;)

What size drill bit do you suggest for the cap hole?

The nanocoil sitting on a bed of cotton has worked best for me. I wrap 32g kanthal around a paper clip 8 times. Leave that on the paperclip and pull one end around a post. Hold the paperclip down against the top of the well and screw the post in. Do the same for the other post and you get a nice tight coil sitting just about right and even. Remove the paperclip. Then burn and after firing hold pliers to the coil to squish them together. Next take cotton and push that under the coil with the paperclip. Add juice and fire.
