I admire your spirit. I'm done fighting. I fought like hell the last 4 years. I was called a nut job. We can only hope the political climate in this country changes drastically very soon because once the taxes are in place, there is no turning back.

The days of making your own ejuice or buying from a small vendor are soon to pass. I don't have to guess. I know. Because that's how everything else turns out in this country.

Some of my closest friends call me an e-cig evangelist because I talk about and fight for e-cigs to be regulated based on the known scientific data on them.

Because I stand against knee-jerk reactions to the word "cig" and the fact that the strength of the PV is also it's Achilles Heel, they can look and feel so much like cigs we don't feel like we are giving up anything, instead we are gaining quite a bit.

I e-mail every call to acton and stand and speak on the facts about e-cigs every time I get the chance. I will not give up the fight.

This is NOT a civil liberties fight, this is not a right to vape fight, This is a fight for the health and well-being of millions.

If we let e-cigs get taxed and regulated like a cigarette then there will nothing stoping propaganda to make them look as bad. We are the only ones who can stop this, nobody is going to do it for us.

This will play right into the hands of BT, Big T doesn't care where they get their money from and if the e-cig market dies then cigarettes will just come back again.

I know it's exhausting. I know it's tiring, but we have gained some ground. We have had some victories and we have proven that we have the ability to change the landscape. The more that e-cigs are out there the more studies support the risk reduction and the effectiveness of them, the more doctors with patients are long term vapers the number of them grow that support the idea that they are a low risk and excellent alternative.

We have the tools to win this. Don't give up yet.

Okay speech over. :)

I am convinced that (succeed or fail) BT will want this to be in a pre-packaged format and I am convinced they will want to affect the regulation that makes it a 100% pre-filled market. I think the efforts will be all about the juice and it's deliver system and kill off bottled juices.

The thing that might work against them is if juices are available in other countries. BT might be able to pull it off but if enough examples exist elsewhere the flow of information might work against them. They I am sure will be wanting to get back the full lost margins and I think pre-filled is the only way to replace the lost net margin.

I think it will be important to watch events around the world as well as in your own country.

Well I just mean FDA regulations that, say, would make the juice maker have a protected enviornment with which to make the juice, and to wear gear to prevent contamination. Basically so they can't just go make juice in their garage with normal clothes and then sell it. If you ever watch the Johnson Creek video on what their juice making lab looks like you would know what I am talking about. Just talking about that, nothing more.

The gear they wear is to protect themselves. Much of that is OSHA regulations, not FDA. I would say that 99% of the juice out there is made in someone's kitchen/garage/basement/back of their store. It will not be feasible for any juice maker, except, Johnson Creek at this point, to afford to stay open. Johnson Creek sells tens of millions of dollars in product because they are Blu's juice maker. I would say that even the most successful juice makers don't bring in a million a year in annual revenue. If you open up this Pandora's box, you are not just letting the FDA regulate, you will have OSHA and each individual state's equivalent, you will have health departments, you will have the EPA. People aren't going to be allowed to buy 100mg mic and dilute it down as a home business anymore. Do you think the FDA is just going to take a mom and pop shop's word that there is a safe level of nicotine in their juice? Of course not. You will have to have all of your batches labeled and run random tests from each batch.

"...AEMSA it will be our best shot at keeping this industry as free as possible"

I could not disagree more.

AEMSA wants to give up rights voluntarily. Why would I count on them to defend my rights? I would rather fight for them myself than surrender them in hopes of getting favorable treatment from the FDA. Read their proposed regulations. They are completely unacceptable. No food coloring, no WTAs. No thank you!

CASAA is the only proven defender of our liberties. Put your support behind a fighter!

Taxation and regulation are always gonna be around. It IS now a fact of life.

I personally think it can go either way. They could back up their vaping side and bring money in and pretty much always guarantee a growth in their pockets. Or, they could kill it completely, maybe even leaving behind a bad name for it. It's all about what the companies motives are.

This happened a few years back with snus. I quit smoking back in 2010 with snus. The swedish variety, the real stuff. Marlboro and camel got into the game but the real swedish variety we can still buy on the internet directly from Sweden. They introduced the pact act which taxed real swedish snus but not that bad imo. I love vaping but I can always order a few rolls of Ettan and go back to snus. Oh and I used nasal snuff as well which is a possibility. Can order that from England with no tax whatsoever. It's such a niche market the fda doesn't care about it.

The American snus is a joke btw low nic and tastes like crap.

I don't use snus or snuff anymore. All I do is vape which I enjoy better. I'll go back to snus and nasal snuff if I have to. I just feel bad for people who won't want to try these reduced harm options and go back to cigs. I never will.

let's chill on the "slave" stuff, people. that's an ugly word, and it brings up ugly images and memories of an ugly past. we are not slaves. we are free to speak our mind and make educated choices. nobody is forcing us to live the life we live. that's slavery. i'mu angry and concerned and i'm being vigilant. slaves can't do that. we're not slaves. we're conformists, maybe. we've all gotta do what we've gotta do to survive. but we're not being forced to do anything.

I do not want them loading thousands of carcinogens into my juice...been there, done that. I played with them for 30 years and I'm done playing with them. I don't want the garbage they sell anymore and I don't want that addiction back!

And that is exactly what will happen. Just the other day a friend of mine was raving about their new "Blue" setup they bought at the local Rippy Mart. I took a hit off of it and I thought I was going to frigging GAG.

On another note, I'm not exactly sure how they are going to be able to tax and control ejuice. Both Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol are widely used in food preparation and are freely available. Nicotine juice is a natural by product of the Tobacco plant, which is not regulated and you can grow in your backyard garden. The flavoring in ejuice is again, all food grade and widely available.

The only way I can see for then to truely control this is to ban the importation of things like cartos, clearos and tanks...:2c:

Anyone worried that big tobacco will start to add chemicals into ejuice like they did cigs?

Classic ANTZ propaganda. Just remember who started that myth - the very same people who claim e-cigarettes have anti freeze. Let go of the brainwashing or the ANTZ win. We have real issues we will have to deal with regarding some tobacco companies. We don't need to be focusing on BS made up by ANTZ for their anti-tobacco/anti-smoker agenda. ;)
