First of all Hi for everyone. i just registered to the forum to receive some advices and answers (and perhaps give some in the future with better knowledge : ) I'm 24 years old bloke from Finland and as most of us seeking a way to lay down that nasty habbit.

After doing comprehensive research and browsing this forum about potential electrical cigarettes models i'm under the impression that overall the 510 would be the one to get, please correct me if i'm wrong. And perhaps in the future would get another one somekind of supermini would be nice 'cos of the potential immersion but are they any good in use?

So i would have few questions to ask.
In the place of getting first starter kit what (and how much) should i order excatly. I'm thinking about following combo (all white):
-3 atomizer
-2 manual batteries
-USB-rechargeable casing set
-and ofc carts

I'm under the impressions that Joyes 510 is the highest quality despite the fact that they all suppose to be same. Does that matter or is for example Titan/Yeti/etc.. just equal?
How long will one atomizer and cart last? And put it this way, how many carts you can use with one atomizer?

And about carts, i'm thinking first to get some prefilled carts but as a kind of DIY-man i wouldn't mind filling those myself (and modding the device overall) My main concern considering carts however is that how would i get the best possible feel and taste of the proper tobacco? There seems to be just tobacco flavor and some brand specific (Marlboro, Camel etc..) flavours available, which would be the best choice?

And about the price and where to order. Are there any suggestions? Also location of the shop would be relevant for two reasons, first of all outside the EU-area there are potentially customs and secondly shipping price.
I have been thinking about The Electronic Cigarette and Litecig any experience from those? Are there any cheaper/better places to order?

I guess that was everthing from top of my head :) Every answer would be much appreciated.

I'll just address this part.

The Dura C, Yeti, Titan, Joye 510 are all the same and parts interchangeable with the possible exception of having a non-manual personal charging case that doesn't have the button cutout in the battery charger slot. Most are 'manual' now but you should check. (There is also a very odd case of some 'new atomizers' from innovapor where the 510 cartridges are loose - but if you order from there you can get the 'classic' or 'titan' attys). Otherwise everything else fits.

Some people clean their atomizers every few days and the idea is that they will last longer that way. More evidence is needed for that but I do clean my atomizers every 3 days. And to do that, it is nice to have 2x atomizers for the number of ecigs you have. If you get a kit with 2 ecigs and then get a passthrough (where you can hook up to the computer or a usb wall plug or car plug), then you'll need 6 atomizers. And because the atomizer is a crucial part - as you say you may mod something and you can use other batteries for that - it is a good idea to 'stock up' on atomizers once you find the ecig you know you'll be using for a while - in my case the 510 and the Janty Stick. We've had people report that they've burned up an atty in one day and others who have gone over 6 months with the same attys. I haven't had one go out closing in on 2 months.

But you'll need 6 to start if you intend to swap out and clean. The passthrough is a convenient device that has an inline battery so charging batteries won't be an issue with that - but you are tethered to it so it is good for stationary situations - computer, office, tv chair, etc.

The PCC - personal charging case - is great for when you're not tethered :) and on the go. Charges @5 ecig batteries off of it's internal battery which takes about 4 hours to charge so on a full charge you can vape almost all day (or night).

If you get the PCC and/or the passthrough it is nice to have some usb wall and car plugs that are rated to at least a 1amp output, so you can vape away from the computer and while you're driving without messing with changing batteries.

As far as cartridges go, don't rely on them and either get some ejuice or as you state, DIY it where what you will need is just some blank cartridges and there are now two types for the 510 - the regular 'round' type of mouthpiece that come with most kits and the 'flat tip' (whistle tip) that are like a pipe tip. I prefer them, but some like the round ones. I'm getting rid of all my round carts. So whatever carts you get with the kit, get some 'blank carts' as well - a 'blank' still has the filler in where you fill with juice - an 'empty cart' is one you may get for 'shipping' - no filler.

So.. WELCOME! to the forum and feel free to ask away.

Aha! That explains at least some of my problems with this thing.*All* the carts I got from Innovapor leaked like crazy. I didn't realize that they are supposed to fit tighter until I got my flat-tips (love those, btw) with today's shipment from Health Cabin...

Cheers,
Briar.

Yeah, I changed all over to them - wife's too. But they don't do it for the 'new attys' for me. Still loose.... better.. but too loose. Someone was saying that the 901 carts worked but Mark at IV says "nope" on that too. They look really well built but I'm going to have to come up with a better solution to use them or I may just make them 'dripping attys'. wv2win's fix to heat a needle worked with one but as things heat up they get loose. going to have to add some mass around the cart, but I want something non-toxic of course.

Well, I'd be curious to know if you come up with anything... Right now dripping is all I am using the IV unit for. I couldn't take the cart issues anymore.

Briar.

You could try what wv2win said. Where a leather glove ;-) Heat up a straight pin or a needle to red hot and with the filler out, go to the inside of the cart at the rounded ends and put the needle against the plastic and move toward the outside. Easy as you only want to bulge it a bit not melt through it. Do it on both sides maybe in two places but just on the round part sinc that is what will contact the atty casing. Someone mentioned to lay it on the top of the cart but frankly that would just make a 'path' for juice to flow out, unless you were able to 'flatten' the whole top. Anyway, that's what I would do if I were to do it again. I only did one 'bulge' and it worked for a while then got loose again.

If you 'pinch the atty casing you're going to have air coming in and juice leaking out. You could burn a cartridge and just build up (like a weld along the outside close to where the edge is where the atty and cart .... together. That would probably be the best fix. But you're going to have to use something more than a needle to melt the plastic.

Oy. Two things immediately spring to mind:

Leather glove: kinky. (it is rather late at night...)
Melting plastic: stinky. :D

I think I will just stick to dripping that one. I do have two more now after all...

Cheers,
Briar.

Thank you all for answers and specially Kent for long and comprihensive reply. It really helped and answered many questions. I think i will order now a Joye510 basic set, (2 manual batteries, 2 atomizer and charger) and add 2 atomizer and perhaps the passthrough and personal charger casing. There seems to be rather good deal at ruyandirect. And then i will order some carts and liquids from some other place.
I have to keep eye on that order doesn't exceed the custom limit of 50euros (or 72usd), there are no taxes below that limit.

Glad I could help. If you decide to go with the passthrough and personal charger case, you'll really be all set. - it only gets 'exotic' after that - mods, kensington battery packs, 1 liter juice, etc. Although I really like my Janty Stick and Kensington pack :)

While they have the usb wall and car plugs there I'm not sure whether they are the 1 amp output types. I've gotten others that look similar to the ones they sell, that weren't 1amp. They would be good for charging on the usb charger but not for the passthrough. Try amazon for the plugs.

Ruyandirect is a good choice for you. And if you like cappuccino - they just reformulated it and while I'm still waiting for my order, you might give that a try. The Hilton, Kent, Marlboro, FlueCured are really good light tobacco based with flavors added. If you have to split up the order, it would be a good idea to include 1 juice with the hardware order. And I'm not sure what type of flat tip Wayne (ruyandirect) carries. But either would be better, imo, than the round tips - you'll get some of those in your kit - you may like them better, some do.

And you might just make another order from ruyandirect for the juice if that works tax wise by splitting them up. Otherwise, Totally Wicked uk might be a good alternative in your area of the planet.

There was a snus tobacco flavor how to somewhere on the forum that will suposidly get you pretty close to real tobacco flavor, but i don't think it has any real nic in it. you'd have to cut it with nic juice. good luck though.

I realize I'm late to the post but I only recently found it. There's so much here that I could spend days of reading and never catch up.

There is one flavor that I presume must be a type of tobacco flavor b/c it tastes like one and that's the RY4. I'm wondering what an RY3 is. I ran across an online store that had both the RY3 and the RY4 together so they must be different in some manner but I have no idea how. I really and truly want to get both but until I can get some finances under control there's not much I can do except keep buying small supplies here and there when I can and hope I can get a big enough supply backed up just in case the FDA goes ape-sh$t and tries to ban the e-cigs.

I'm afraid if they tried it there would be one heck of an uprising and resembling closely the uprising during prohibition of alcohol. They tried to stop alcohol and look how well that turned out. Imagine how many people will be shouting in the streets if they stop the e-cig production especially with the e-cig user ranks growing in such immense numbers each day as they learn the FDA was doing nothing more than spinning their propaganda stream for Big Pharma and Big Tobacco profits and all those whose hands are greased to keep the status quo. It's as if the FDA has forgotten who they work for somehow over the years.

FS RY3 eLiquid - freshsmoking.com

"FS RY3 flavor is a blend of caramel, tobacco and vanilla. More tobacco flavor with just light caramel undertones. "

FS RY4 eLiquid - freshsmoking.com

"FS RY4 flavor is a strong blend of caramel, tobacco and vanilla. It has a strong tobacco flavor with just hints of both caramel and vanilla. The most popular eLiquid flavor! Smooth, smoky and purely delicious. "

They also have RY2:
FS RY2 eLiquid - freshsmoking.com

"FS RY2 flavor is a powerful blend of caramel, tobacco and vanilla. Smooth, smoky and purely delicious. "

These are the same juice as Janty's and The Widow's RY4 is the same as well. Ruyandirect, eastmall, and most others RY4 is different.

My take:
RY2 - the smokiest - most prominent, some tobacco and some caramel/scoch, vanilla

RY3 - the least smokiest with little tobacco, and caramel/butterscotch/vanilla prominant (I think the other RY4's taste more like this Janty RY3. Sweeter than the other 2 but not super sweet.

RY4 - a balanced blend with smoke, tobacco, caramel/scotch, vanilla with the smoke upfront (first thing evident) and the caramel, etc. later. Not real sweet, imo. The smokey part has a pine flavor and the other stuff has some other 'unknown/'mystery' ingredient that many have tried to nail down - tastes different to different people ;-)

There was a recent 'what does RY4 taste like' thread.

Well worth a shot but you should try both 'types' of RY4 - the Janty/freshsmoking/widow one and then the others.

I've had Janty's and just love it but as soon as I can get a little extra $$ put back for more liquids I will give the other RY4s, the RY3, and the RY2 a try.

These are the type of after-dinner smokes I like. I could almost swear it reminds me of a cigar I've smoked before at sometime in my past. And yes, women enjoy cigars too. LOL!

I'm keeping the links saved in a file on my computer with specific flavors I want to try or later mix when I can get a DIY series of flavors I can make for myself.
