Hello everyone. I've been reviewing the ecf site, watched the videos, read tons of posts, looked a bunch of vendor sites and decided to take the plung. I need some advice on what to get as a starter kit and supplies.

I smoke 1PAD, used to be Marlboro 100's but they got too damn expensive so cheap 100's now. I would like to get either the Joye510 or the Kr808D-1. I'm looking for something that feels analog size. I usually smoke 3 cig in the morning, 3 on the drive to work, a couple of smoke breaks at work, 3 on the drive home. I work on a computer all day but would like to get a PCC. The commute to work is 40 minutes so I'd be near a charger after that time. I'm not interested in drip tips, I would like to use the PV as a way to stop smoking. What mg juice would you recommend? Which vendor has a good starter kit for a manual PV either with carts or carto's and a PCC? And should I go Joye510 or kr808D-1?

BTW, I've never read it in the new member forum, does vaping still curb your appetite for food like analogs do? Have you gained weight since vaping and being off analogs? It's kind of another plus for vaping besides the other health benefits.

Thanks for any advice I receive.

Hi Eclipsed and welcome to the world of vaping. I just started vaping 12 days ago. I started with the Joye 510 mega and a few days later I ordered the Riva 510 Lite. I like the Riva much better and it was cheaper than the joye. I ordered it from liberty-flights for like 29 dollars.

As far as the eating thing. I am finding that I eat way less vaping than I did smoking. Win Win for me!!

Good luck...you will find alot of support here.

Hey, Eclipsed!

You'll find a lot of people on this site recommend a 510, but personally I'm a big KR808D-1 person right now because I like the two piece design and overall convenience. I think you should probably order the juices in varying levels of nic just to see where you feel comfortable, because it really varies from person to person.

Excellent choices. Both are a bit thicker than a cig (they are 9mm)

Standard Joye 510 110mm w/ atty+cart, 100mm w/ carto (180mah) (KR8 w/ shorty battery is about the same)
KR808D-1 w/ standard battery 120mm (280mah)
Joye 510 w/ mega xl battery - 138mm w/atty+cart, 128mm w/ carto (280mah)

KR808D-1 - lots of prefilled cartomizer available, plenty of blank carto styles
see Vapor4Life,com for colors and prefilled cartos (sale today and maybe tomorrow code SPRING25 for 25% off)
standard white or steel kits at LiteCigUSA.net. VaporLeaf.com
slightly warmer hit than 510 since KR8 is a full 3.7 volts

510 - not many decent prefilled cartos around, probably the most blank carto styles
see Cignot.com, LiteCigUSA.net for standard Joye 510, and for non-Joye Vaporleaf has some nice color batteries, NoSMokeVA has nice PCC (I am using both a Vaporleaf manual midnight blue battery and a VaporMaxx PCC from NoSmokeVA - only hold standard size 510 batteries. I love the mega manuals with a carto but you can only get the Joye-style metal PCC for them). Vaporleaf may have the cheapest 510 battery cables. I use 2-amp 4-port USB to AC adapters at home and work for charging batteries (Rosewill RUC6180 - NewEgg has only the RUC6181 now which includes some international plugs). Cartos I use are Boge soft-caps (standard resistance)

I recommend all manual batteries

And neither ecig can use low resistance (LR) parts - those are for the fat battery models like Ego and Riva 510

I vape both and like both. Sorry I am no help for deciding!

Thanks for the quick replies. I think i will go with the manual Kr808 because the two piece design sounds simpler to start with and I watched the easy refill method video and like the ease. How many times can you refill the kr808 cartos before having to toss them?

I might try the joye510 later and give the kr808 to my wife if she see this works.

As long as you dont let them get too dry, you can refill them quite a few times before you start to lose efficiency. say 6 or 7. I know people who have made them last much longer, but mainly out of total necessity. As soon as you start to notice the flavor getting a lot less on them, give them a refill..that will keep them from getting too dry. When you notice that nfew refills don't really seem to be giving you the same flavor and level of vapor, its time to chuck them and move on.

Well I pulled the trigger this morning, getting a kr808d-1 manual starter kit, got 5 additional blank carto, 1 10ml bottle menthol 16mg, 1 10ml bottle butterscotch 26mg from LiteCigUSA.net. Now I'll be eagerly waiting for the package to arrive. Do I need to blow out the carto's before filling?

I'll have to go through the process of experimenting with dosage size and flavors kind of like when I first started analogs picking a brand. The wife wants to see how I do before she'll commit to it. I told her this is my choice and that she will have to make hers when and if she wants too.
