I have tried two brands, Smoking Everywhere and V2, however neither gave me the satisfaction of actually smoking a cig. So I went back. I currently smoke 1 1/2 -2 packs a day (Marlboro lights). I would like the ecig to look somewhat like a cig, good flavor and vapor is extremely important, decent to good battery life. I would really like to totally quit smoking so I am open on these suggestions. I have visited several forums and hear alot about the Joye 510, Ego and Riva. But the more I read the more confused I get, and the last thread I read here turned into an all out brawl on people's opinions vs what's right for the newbie. So once again, if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

If the two mini's weren't enough for you, I'd go with a bigger battery model to get you off the cigs. You can always try the mini's out again or even use one of the two you have after you've been off cigs for awhile and you cig addiction is gone.

I quit with the Joye Ego (Riva- same thing). You can get a kit for $29.99 at Liberty Flights. Pick up some cartomizers definitely and some drip tips and experiment with different mg of nicotine to see the best level you need to get you off cigarettes.

We're all pretty passionate about what got us off cigarettes. There is no perfect fit for everyone. That worked for me (a 30 year 2 pk a day smoker) and it might work for you. I do occasionally use a mini now, but I definitely needed a bigger pv to get me off the cigs.

Good luck!

I read that you wanted it small, like a cigarette. The problem with that is battery life. You can get a PCC to keep you going throughout the day. I'd try the mega 510 batteries and the PCC that can charge them. Also, you might want to try Boge 2ohm cartomisers, they are hard on the batteries because of the lower ohm rating but they perform so much better it's worth it... more vapor, better thoat hit. And for that cigarette craving might I suggest "Backo" from backwoodsbrew.net . I think that combination would help you, IMHO. Good luck!

If you already had V2, that's a KR808D-1 and that's the highest voltage slim model (though most of us buy it elsewhere cheaper).

Go big battery (Ego or Riva 510), or 3.7 mod box, or variable voltage - on these you can use low resistance atomizers and cartomizers for more heat (though they will use charge faster). Those will be blank cartomizers you fill and there are many kinds available. Boge are simplest and most popular. If you are not used to keeping cartos damp, try the standard resistance (around 3 ohms) first, then you could try the hotter 2.0 ohm ones and more exotic cartos. For the top end of variable voltage you would probably use something closer to standard resistance.

My simple and cheapest suggestion without sacrificing quality Vaping in my opinion.

1. Buy one, Ego USB Pass through battery. This can be used while charging, and with the new 1000 Mah version lasts a long time. Price - around 25 bucks
2. Atomizer or Cartomizers. I would suggest cartomizers just for ease of use, 1 pack, I would go low res as well, 510 size for the ego. Price - 10 bucks. If you like them off the bat, order more right away so you don't run out.
3. Juice - this is all on you. Find a good vendor, get at least 30 mls, with your light cig use, start at 24 Nic strength. Then move down to 18 if it works for you. Price - 15 bucks

Key points -

It take 15 days for us humans to pick up a habit, keep your expectations real. I stopped Jan 1st, and never looked back.

Keep a unopened pack of analogues, this reduces any stress of being " out" of cigs (I wrote on my pack, that I still have, "January 1st, 2011. I won, you lost"

Information is king when Vaping. YouTube, these forums filled with the greatest people on Earth. Don't become overwhelmed. We are here to help. Your in for a fight, but it is a fight you can win. And there are thousands on this forum if you need proof. Hope this helps. Just remember, you beat those nasty analogues, and the prize is invaluable.

Great advice. Sure, you might be tempted to have one every now and then, but it's good to know they're there "just in case"....psychology is funky stuff...lol

+1 on bigger batts and easing out of cigs. If you smoke pack a day plus, you need batts that can last longer than the 2 hour V2 batts. The Riva/eGo Swedishfish suggested will last up to 6 hours (bigger batts, even longer), but they are as thick as cigars. It's a limitation of battery technology, smaller batts don't hold much power. If you can't let go of the cig look, get a PCC with those little batts, but you'll need at least 4 batts for rotation.

I smoked M lights and found the subdued flavor of Dekang USA Mix (Marl) tastes like it. You can try a little of that from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.. Beware this flavor is common and there are counterfeits elsewhere. Good luck with ditching smokes! :)

You can go with a big bat like the ego or Riva and I won't argue with those choices. However, I think you'll be better served with a more generic battery. At least take a look at an epower or roughstack. The epower is available from a lot of vendors. I think the roughstack is only available from madvapes.

Gona agree with swedishfish's suggestion for the Riva. Smaller batteries just don't have the performance. I started with a cig sized device (kr808d-1, same as volt/v2) and that just wasn't cutting it. At first I thought I needed a cig sized device. My desire for ecigs to work for me was bigger than my desire for a cig sized PV though. The riva isn't *that* much larger than a cig sized device anyway, I was surprised when I got it because it looks big in pictures, its more like a smaller cigar.

Heres a list of everything I recommend buying with it, along with prices. All of these are from liberty-flights.com. Be sure to click the 20% discount in the upper left of the site.

Riva lite bundle $29.99
Boge 510 Cartomizer 2.0 Ohm (Black) - 5 Pack $7.99
510/901 Metal Drip Tips - Type B $1.83 If you don't like metal in your mouth there plenty of other kinds of driptips, I happen to like this one. Driptips act as mouthpieces and are used for dripping onto atomizers, but they are also used on cartomizers (way better than the end of a carto in your mouth)

So for under $40 before shipping you can have a good kit, try dripping and LR cartomizers. If you like those cartos you can get 15 of them for $20 and free shipping at crystalclearvaping.com

What's the difference between the Riva and Ego?

Not much. Riva is an eGo clone and costs less. Joye produces the original eGo and there are many clones. eGos start at 650 mAh (about 6 hrs vaping), Riva starts at 750 mAh, a little more. They both offer even bigger batts. There may be some performance difference, but I can't recall now.

I would recommend something a little bigger than the 510 mall type varients, I think most have recommeded the Joye eGo-T already, the batt life will be a help definately. I find the eGo is a good one also because you can sneak hits at work...with out the break envolved. They become pretty good conversation starters too, I have seen a couple of people I work with start vaping vice smoking now. Juice I have found and liked actually haven't been Tobacco flavored. ChocaNila Haze, Menthol Burst, Hawaiian Esspresso, Kona Coffee and Red Wings (Red Bull) all from Volcano. I found that Dripping is more satisfying (stronger Throat hit and more Vapor) than Tanks or Cartos but Tanks and Carts are more convienient. Play with Low Resistance Atty's to tailor your Vapor and Throat Hit. I am ready to move up to a Mod myself except at work (eGo-T), looking at the SS GGTS, Galileo and Provari. Good Luck...finding the Juice and Vape Quality is going to be what helps you quit.

I am using the Go-Go now and it is a dream in terms of ease of use - long battery life and long carto life (and capacity.) I think easy of use is a big factor in kicking analogs. I also like Vapor Station tobaccos - Tampa, Tennessee, Frisco and they are cartomizer-friendly. More info on the Go-Go is here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...3-go-go-specific-thread-all-things-go-go.html . One drawback is it's gear is mostly proprietary though I think there are now 510 adapters.
