Another Newbie to the community

Just wanted to start off on a little background of myself and introduce myself to the community. First off, this is a very informative forum and extremely active which I love to see. I'm currently in the IT field working for one of the larger corporations, very active gear head (currently rock a 94 6.2L Formula Firebird, '13 Dodge Charge R/T+, and sitting in Nagoya, a '99 Nissan Skyline GTR), play electric guitar by hobby, and of course video games PC/PS3.

I started analogs quite young (around 13), I wanted to stop because I started dating my current significant other who has a little one and at the time he was just still a baby, I wanted to kick the habit just didn't know how. Until one day, two of my life long buddies showed up at my apartment with these pen style e-cigs, I've always been curious but all the ones I've tried (Blu, Njoy, etc) seem to make you take a long enough drag to where its uncomfortable which shyed me away for a while. They brought me into a newly opened vape shop in my area and basically thats where it all started.

My current setup being a Kanger MT3s, 2.2ohm replaceable atomizer, and I have two batteries an Ego 650 passthru and a Ego style (unamed) variable volt 1100 (New Leaf is a local vape shop, seems they brand all their products). I'm at a point where I think I would like to experience other e-juices from outside vendors, and maybe a upgrade to a new carto/clearo, essentially I'm at a loss as far as what product to buy and kind of firing blindly, looking at PT2/3, Vision2, or maybe some kind of dual coil (which sounds like a bit of gimmick from some of threads I've read here). From what I understand the only local shops in my area carry 50/50 e-juice and maybe the products themselves being overpriced a bit here as well. Well hope to hear from you guys and gals, happy vaping. :vapor:

welcome aboard arystalis

protank 1,2,3 are all very well regarded in the vaping community. as far as juice some that are pocket friendly and good quality are mtbakervapor, they are out of WA but i get my stuff in 3-4 days, and moonmountainvapor out of tampa. There are thousands of places but those are the ones that I tend to frequent.

Welcome to the forums. You really have a skyline?? Man, i'm jealous. The closest i'll probably ever get is the collection of them i have in Gran Turismo

It sounds like you already have a pretty good setup. The Kanger MT3 clearos are good, and their evod clearos are even better. But yes, by all means, you should definitely try out other things. Find a good top coil clearo, a cartomizer tank, a dripping atomizer, and find out what type of topper you prefer. If you decide to stick with tanks & clearomizers, i suggest getting at least one made with pyrex. There are some liquids that will actually crack polycarbonate tanks. Happy hunting, and enjoy!

Thanks deleon, will check them out among other sites I've seen as well. I'm really debating on the PT3, I saw alot of good reviews on Youtube lately.

Yeah kotton, a pretty blue R34 is awaiting her arrival to the states come 2024 :grr: lol. In the meantime, I plan to build a 1990 Rx-7 with a LS3 crate motor w/hotcam preinstalled. Motor pushes 480hp to the fly :). As far as a top coil, don't you have to constantly have them topped off to prevent a dryout of the wicks?

Yeah, you want to keep them at least half filled if you can. Giving them a tilt & spin after every few puffs will also help to keep the wicks saturated. Some people love them, but personally, i'm not a big fan of top coil for that exact reason (although a couple of liquids i use really do taste better in a top coil). I prefer bottom coil clearos because of their consistent performance and ease of use.

I think we might be on the same page of having to adjust to keep them saturated, I think I'm gonna order the PT3 today and maybe some e-juice from mtbaker, that absinthe flavor sounds really appealing.

Good choice :thumb: The protank isn't my absolute favorite because the draw is a little too airy, but its well made and every piece of it is replaceable. Mt Baker is my go-to vendor for eliquid. I actually just ordered the absinthe last month, and its pretty good. If you want to check out some of their other flavors too, try sorting them by best-selling. That will give you a good idea of what other customers have tried, liked, and re-ordered.

Welcome to ECF, sounds like you're well on your way to dialing in your preferred setup. Brick and mortar stores are notorious for having high prices but, at least in my area, there are a vast array of budget friendly liquid options. 50/50 ratios are pretty standard and work well for a lot of people, myself included, but try a wide variety and see if something with more PG or VG suits you better. Most people do recommend steeping MtBaker for a bit. This means letting the bottle sit in a cupboard for a period of time with the bottle open. It lets the flavors marry and condense.

When I saw the online prices compared the store's, I about flipped lol. Just for a 30ml of juice, MT3s, and a 650 Ego passthru, out the door, $85. Ouch.

 Sorry...you're going to have to excuse the massive saliva in this thread now...LOL. Nice little collection there, is that a debadged 5.0?

No, it's even more frightening.

It's in the process of becoming a supercharged V6. The plan is to have it pushing over 400 RWHP while staying 250lbs lighter than the 5.0. More power, less weight, and GT and Camaro owners will think it's a stock V6.

Boy are they going to be in for a shock.
